KevinGregg Verified Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Who should make the post season roster? Please rank them in declining level of trust from most to least trustworthy Osuna Grilli Biagini Feldman Liriano (if hes not in the rotation) Cecil Benoit Barnes --------- Loup Tepera Shultz Girodo Dragmire
Seanie Verified Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Benoit below Cecil, even Feldman, is incredibly stupid. Cecil's velo is down, he sucks again.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Believe it or not I dont think Cecil is a guarantee at all to make the post season roster Lineup RF Bautista CF Pillar LF Saunders DH EE 1B Smoak C Martin 3B Donaldson SS Tulo 2B Travis Bench C Navarro OF Upton INF Barney OF Carrerra/Pompey INF Goins Thats 14 Starters Sanchez Stroman Happ Estrada Thats 18 So 7 relievers Osuna Benoit Grilli Biagini Liriano Feldman Cecil But if any of Schultz, Tapera, outshines in September, I'd take them in over Cecil, Especially if I can bring in Liriano as the Lefty. If he is in, I honestly don't see a reason for Cecil.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2016 Author Posted September 1, 2016 Cecil still worries me Osuna, Grilli and Biagini are clearly tier 1 Then Benoit, Feldman and HOPEFULLY Barnes Tepera and Loup are way down for me
KevinGregg Verified Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Benoit below Cecil, even Feldman, is incredibly stupid. Cecil's velo is down, he sucks again. I 100% trust both of those guys more than Benoit
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 By the way I definately think we will carry 2 infields and 2 outfielders.
KevinGregg Verified Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Osuna, Grilli and Biagini are clearly tier 1 Interested if anyone disagrees with this
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2016 Author Posted September 1, 2016 By the way I definately think we will carry 2 infields and 2 outfielders. I'd kind of like a 5 man bench, yeah, but who? Navarro Barney Upton/Smoak Carrera or Pompey ??? (both Carrera and Pompey, or Goins?)
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I 100% trust both of those guys more than Benoit Benoit has been lights out, even touched 96 That statement is crazy, not to mention Benoit has successfully pitched in some huge games in the playoffs.
mellowgold Verified Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 1. Osuna 2. Grilli 3. Biagini 4. Ben wah Everybody else makes me nervous as hell
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 So based upon a 1-10 scale where 10 is trusting that reliever to babysit my yet to be conceived (as far as I know anyway) first born child and 1 is I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them here is what I'm thinking. Osuna - 10 Grilli - 9 Biagini - 9 Barnes - 4 Benoit - 4 Feldman - 3 Loup- 3 Cecil - 1 Tepera - 1 That's pretty damn subjective but if Cecil came in to a tight late inning playoff game I'd probably be s***ing my pants the whole time he's out there.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Benoit below Cecil, even Feldman, is incredibly stupid. Cecil's velo is down, he sucks again. .363 BAPIP against him with an 18% HR/FB His avg FB and CB V is down 0.3 MPH. Barely discernible. the issue has been FB command and the sharpness of the CB break. Keep putting him out there in lower leverage and hope he gets some luck and some confidence back, because we could really use him.
Seanie Verified Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Osuna Grilli Biagini Benoit Barnes (hard to say) Feldman Cecil Tepera Barney Schultz

I don't trust Cecil at all right now but you're right, he's got the talent to become nails again. We could really use him down the stretch.
KevinGregg Verified Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Benoit has been lights out, even touched 96 That statement is crazy, not to mention Benoit has successfully pitched in some huge games in the playoffs. He hasn't allowed a run, I think that's caused some people to over value him. 5.56 k/9 in august, 4.33 xFIP in august. Cecil and Feldman actually lead the team in bullpen xFIP for august, and are the only pitchers along with Stroman to have a sub 3 xFIP in August

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2016 Author Posted September 1, 2016 I miss Gavin Floyd =( I was just thinking the same thing While simultaneously thinking how much I DON'T miss Venditte, Storen and Chavez
Seanie Verified Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Cecil... Lots of chances in blow-outs (8+ run lead)
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2016 Author Posted September 1, 2016 Storen ERA 4.35 and FIP 4.11 with Seattle K/BB ratio 2.0
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I wouldn't pitch Benoit ahead of Biagini, but this is not the season to Trust Cecil. He simply isn't getting the outs this year. Now if he comes back better, he comes back better. For now though, I don't want him in any important game.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I miss Gavin Floyd =( For a while there he looked he would be another Biagini for us.
King Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Storen ERA 4.35 and FIP 4.11 with Seattle He broke though.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I'd kind of like a 5 man bench, yeah, but who? Navarro Barney Upton/Smoak Carrera or Pompey ??? (both Carrera and Pompey, or Goins?) Goins is definitely in, you need 2 infielders on the bench in the playoffs. Especially with Fragile Tulo.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2016 Author Posted September 1, 2016 Gotta say, I don't envy Gibbons... this 2016 bullpen has not been easy to manage
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Now if Dickey is lights out in September, then we have some real Roster issues.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I 100% trust both of those guys more than Benoit Since joining the blue jays, Benoit has played in 15 games with an ERA of ZERO and WHIP of 1.186. How is he below Feldman and the corpse of Brett Cecil?
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Surprised Feldman hasn't been getting more love. Outside of two bad outings, he's been dynamite. The projections lIke him too.
