Smoak is just not very good. Long swing and not overly athletic. Upton's just had some terrible habits and what appears to be almost no proper coaching over the last few years. I'm confident he can turn it around. Smoak is a lost cause tho.

 

Upton Jr is far from hopeless. Hes just pressing. Smoak is what he is.

Can't believe we extended Smoak. I bet anything the intention was to replace EE next year. But now probably rethinking that.

Yup, I think he needs to time his legkick and track the ball, sometimes his bat literally misses the ball but you're right great bat speed

 

Like i said before, it sure looks like Upton is using a 34.5'' or 35'' bat. If so, he needs to cut back half inch.

he needs to just put the ball in play and stop trying to hit it 500ft... he'll be fine once he relaxes. he might need to walk into one to get there though

He also suggested platooning him with Goins. No reason to watch that program unless he's interviewing a worthwhile guest and you just live with him for 20 minutes.

He slid straight into home plate, why do you keep insisting he did something miraculous? It's the catcher's fault for not popping off the plate quick enough.
