intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Pretty weak offensive year by his standards for Bautista. Unfortunately I can see Gibby putting him back at the 3 hole. Edwin and Tulo were both having weak years until they weren't. Better to trust the elite bats come through then concoct some other lineup to make things work. That's a little quick to call him up no? His timing is going to be off no? I'll take half a Bautista over Junior Lake, tbh. If he's healthy, he should be on the team.

Lead him off, I say! Also, these people thinking he's going to DH are sadly mistaken, he wouldn't be repping RF in his rehab then.

Fair enough. I was just thinking the offence has been hot wouldn't be so bad to give him a couple extra games down there to make sure we get the good Bautista back. But at the same time I thought that about Tulo when they called him up and well he's killed it

He could get more DH time while re-acclimating himself to RF in the minors. I do think they'll start to put him into RF more than they should, though. It really comes down to which role player Gibby thinks should see more time: Smoak or Zeke. If Smoak, Bautista goes to RF. If Zeke, Jose can DH and EE can play 1B. I have a feeling more nods will go to the first arrangement, though.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 I guessed he would be DHING by July 20th but looks like they want to throw him right back in the OF according to Atkins et al. Jose loves the pressure. I think he is going to come back and rake. Which is all good for us. Adding an elite bat to this kind of line up without having to make a trade is a luxury few teams have right now. P.S. BoSox can f*** right off anytime now with the offense. Before the break JF was hanging on by a fingernail and now they are rolling again.

If the shoulder feels better, the OF play might be better. I mean he's not a good fielder but he makes it up for it somewhat when he's making strong throws. It's when he's not that he's really a black hole there.
jb22 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 It's amazing how quickly his skills declined out there and he did it all to himself trying to get Demon Young at first last April. He really had one of the most feared arms of RF up to that point and totally f***ed himself because of anger issues. It's kind of surprising that incident doesn't get brought up more. Maybe because there's no definitive proof that was the cause?
