Why is Thole in?

 

Probably because playing 19 innings minimum within about 16 hrs after playing the last 3 nights, can be taxing on a 33yr old catcher. It's not his fault Thole is their backup.

Earlier in the inning he suggested that Michael Saunders gets a lot of ground ball outs. Tabler immediately jumped in after and said that yes Happ has had a knack for inducing the ground ball this season
