RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Why is it so f***ing difficult to use Loup as a LOOGY? Christ almighty. A left hander just a hit a 2 run shot against him
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 s***, imagine if this team had a Betances type of guy for the 8th inning. We'd chase the Red Sox outta first place in no time.

el duque Verified Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 this may be bad idea but any way... how about using RAD as a reliever, he usually throws at least 3-4 good innings before Dickey's implosion
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Who needs Betances when you can have Biagini???? Floyd, Osuna have pitched way too much. it's been good that Biagini has shown up to be the third guy and now they need at least one more sure thing out of the pen.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Blue Jays Win!!!!!!!!!!!!

nextyear Verified Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 The Blue Jays now have a record of 27-26, one game over .500. Last year after 53 games (after the first game of the Washington doubleheader) they were 23-30, seven games under .500 - http://mlb.mlb.com/news/boxscore.jsp?gid=2015_06_02_tormlb_wasmlb_1
baloojayz Verified Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Caught some highlights, another nice outing for Estrada. Really happy to see Storen gaining some momentum. Crazy how volatile BP's can be. If Storen continues what he's doing now, we're 1 piece away from a decent pen. Long relief Chavez Low to medium leverage Floyd, Biagini Medium to High leverage Cecil (when he's back), Storen, ________ Osuna

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 We need to keep the trade Bautista and EE talks going. If this board gets too optimistic the Jays will pull ones of their 2-8 runs again until the bemoaning is back at full force.

I don't think its even close, last year they were way better. All of the hitters were a year younger and much better last year. Pen last year was dominant with Sanchez, Cecil, Lowe and Osuna.

baloojayz Verified Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 We have Stroman and Happ this year. Makes a difference. Yeah and with Sanchez and Estrada have solidified our starting rotation. Last year LMAO I don't think its even close, last year they were way better. All of the hitters were a year younger and much better last year. Pen last year was dominant with Sanchez, Cecil, Lowe and Osuna. Our bats are off to a slow start this yr by the numbers, but you could argue we have a better lineup. We lost Colabello, but have Smoak for the yr. Tulo over Reyes. Saunders over all the trial and error players in LF. Travis over Goins. Martin is off to a similar start as last year. Numbers can be deceiving. Sure the pen so far has been terrible.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Missed the whole game except for the ninth inning, which seems like it was the least enjoyable part of the game. Good to see a win and loving Estrada. I've had my doubts since they got him, but man, he's been good.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Team this year, other than the bullpen is way better. I don't get it. They're better in LF with a healthy Saunders and at 2B with a healthy Travis. Worse everywhere else. Rotation is worse. Bullpen is worse.

Offense IS getting better

Rotation is worse. Bullpen is worse. 2016 is a better team on paper. They just haven't performed as well...yet. Last year's team at this time was also looking for its way. We still had Reyes at SS and were using Cola et al in LF.

Offense IS getting better Last year's pen down the stretch was deep and very good. Cecil was unhittable, Osuna was dominant, and then you had Hendriks, Lowe, Sanchez, and Hawkins all playing at their peak. Lightning in a bottle.

We still had Reyes at SS and were using Cola et al in LF. If we're talking about pre-deadline, then maybe. Last year's team was still like +75 or something at this point though. Projections for the post deadline 2015 team were ridiculous. The 2016 team has never been close to that. Losing Price + expected regression from all the 30+ year olds hurts.

Dickey = Dickey Estrada 2016 >>> Estrada 2015 (knock on wood) Happ = Buehlre Sanchez 2016 > Sanchez 2015 + Hutch Stroman 2016 > Stroman in a wheelchair + Dubront + other random hacks Price >>>> everyone but only made 11 starts The jury is out on that one and I lean towards 2016 rotation being better.
