Effit Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Already reported. This is my first GDT and the only dickhead I want to see in this thread is you my friend. Hell of a debut.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 LMAO, that's hilarious! But it's cool, you don't have to be sorry. It's just funny, is all. I legit stood there with 15,000 people (for a f***ing highscool football game) and just laughed to myself haha
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Is there a video or gif of this? Seven hundred replays and I still only saw Donaldson for like two seconds. There was a wide angle that was on the very first replay of the fight that you can see Donaldson swing for Odor's jaw before he (supposedly) pinned him down.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 link Err you might wanna remove that before a mod sees it lol
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Err you might wanna remove that before a mod sees it lol I didn't read a link and opened it at work, f*** my life
King Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Here's the Odor brawl against the C's back in 2011
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 I was from Odessa, Texas https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Odessa,+TX,+USA/@31.8767366,-102.4135938,12z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x86fbc96a39137cf9:0x1625ab3454615f46!8m2!3d31.8456816!4d-102.3676431 And most people there were fans of the Rangers and a small amount were Yankee fans (no idea why, everyone loaths New York City in Texas.) I was never a Ranger fan, I liked the Dodgers as a kid and the Diamond Backs because being in West West Texas I leaned more to the West than back East I guess haha. Permian or Bronchos?
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Be nice to see Odur in a stretcher next time these teams play. So baseball people have a problem with a bat flip but punches to the face are not a violation of the code. Honestly, these dinosaurs need to be buried. That said, stupid slide. lol, that's what makes the whole thing so absurd. Resorting to physical violence because someone flipped a bat and hurt your feelings? I cannot with this idiocy. Of course, there were also idiots that supported Papelbon last year when he tried to choke Harper. It's all just so backwards.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Here's the Odor brawl against the C's back in 2011 That's every Venezuelan. They are the craziest of the Mexicans.
BigRed Verified Member Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 MLB Network Bautista's slide didn't even create the bad throw. That was all Odor throwing low sidearm to try and hit Bautista in the face. The league needs to address this fact. Geez, as a Jays fan it's embarrassing how salty some of you guys are. Really grasping at straws here. Odor had to throw low sidearm if he had any chance at the DP, the ball was lobbed to him by the 3rd baseman and he caught it at his foot, a few inches off the ground. Even if Bush intentionally hit Bautista (which I have my doubts that late in a 1 run game, but being it's the last time these teams will play unless they meet in the playoffs again, it's certainly possible), there was no need for a slide like that. Bautista was half a step from the bag before he started his slide and slid way past the bag. The league is already looking at plays like this with the takeout slide rule changes, and he does something like that? It's stupidity. I wouldn't be surprised if they get matching (3-5 game?) suspensions -- I don't see why Odors should be any more severe just because Bautista walked into a punch. Guys take swings a lot in scuffles like this, it's just rare to see one land cleanly because they are usually broken up as fast as they start. Bautista always has to try and get the last "word" in, and it's bit him twice in two years now. Even if he thought Bush hit him on purpose, you had to think it was coming. Bautista pimped a homerun that he probably shouldn't have, take the bruise and move on -- focus on what matters, you're sitting at .500 as a team, and now a bunch of your teammates are looking at suspensions for defending your ego. Last year he got all hot headed against the Os and threw out his arm trying to hot dog a play in right after being thrown at (trying to throw a runner out at first on a single), and then he slides like this and puffs his chest out at Odor. No wonder he got clocked. Odor might be a dirtbag but he had every right to be upset with that slide. The unfortunate part is there might be teammates getting suspensions (Donaldson, Pillar?)... Gibby for sure for coming back out on the field and probably Chavez.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Permian or Bronchos? Permian vs Bulldogs.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Which broadcast? Funny thing is Donaldson is saying he was one of the few people who didn't throw a punch SNet, LOL he clearly swung in the normal replays and via Twitter someone had a screen cap of him tackling Odor. Probably because none of the replays shows him actually making contact he's saying this but he jumped right in, he's the reason the dogpile happened I believe
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 lol hahahaha I love the park mics "I didn't say anything to you I said goddammit!!!"
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 As much as I disagree with bean balls and hard slides with the intent to tackle, everything that was done up to Odor's punch was within the purview of baseball. Odor straight up assaulted Bautista. Pretty sure if anyone ran into a guy like Odor at work they'd be happy to see him in cuffs. Oh, and super f***ing s***** by the Rangers to use Matt Bush -- every idiot's stupid feel good story about a s***** criminal being redeemed for getting a job -- to do the dirty work. Like the guy doesn't have enough stigma as it is and wasn't even on the team last year when the rest of his chump teammates and coaches pissed in their diapers on national TV. I love everything about this post.

If he says he didn't throw a punch I'm inclined to believe him. All I saw was him tacking somebody, no punch.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 hahahaha I love the park mics "I didn't say anything to you I said goddammit!!!" joe west has been a 300lb sack of s*** for 4 decades.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 lol, that's what makes the whole thing so absurd. Resorting to physical violence because someone flipped a bat and hurt your feelings? I cannot with this idiocy. Of course, there were also idiots that supported Papelbon last year when he tried to choke Harper. It's all just so backwards. I stopped coaching because I gave my players and parents ground rules which essentially said that we wouldn't follow the unwritten rules of baseball...we'd follow my written rules. Which included any player on my team found throwing a player or taking out a player on slide would be removed from the game and possibly removed from the team. Parents weren't willing to accept that and I asked the assistants to take over. If someone shows you up...laugh it off. If someone tries to take you out, let the umps deal with it. These were 14 year old AAA players in 1996. I have been for a slide rule change for over 20 years now...but when I said Bautista (who I haven't hid that I dislike) deserved to get punched I'm breaking my own coaching rules so i take that back and just say "his slide, and all dirty slides into second, deserve punishment".
King Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 It did look like he tried to throw the ball at him. edit: i put in a higher quality video
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 It did look like he tried to throw the ball at him. Was the throw on target at first?
King Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Was the throw on target at first? Not even close.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Not even close. Yea then it wouldn't surprise me, but only as retaliation could he could feel Bautista barring down on his ass.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I highly doubt Odor had the time to think about hitting Bautista with the ball.
