KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I don't think it should be a platoon, it should be Saunders unless he needs the day off... I don't see any reason not to bat Pillar at leadoff against lefties given the season he's having.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Think we could trade something of marginal value for Profar? Would it even be worth it at this point?
Rovert Verified Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 So has the Pillar/Saunders leadoff platoon that many here were proposing in the off-season been enacted? Pillar was hitting to good where he was he needed to be moved so he stops hitting , at least i think this is how Gibbons does it.

West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I can't believe I am watching two knuckle ball pitchers right now. Got the Red Sox game up and Jays, gross.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Dickey nicely telling the ump off
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Dickey nicely telling the ump off It is funny, he acts like he paints the corners with 97mph heaters all game long lol
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I can't believe I am watching two knuckle ball pitchers right now. Got the Red Sox game up and Jays, gross. We need to find an Eephus specialist, which I can only imagine is the new market inefficiency...
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I thought he almost got one to dead centre there haha
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I will always remember years ago when Lasorda had the hot mic on and was kicking the sand in front of the ump pretending to yell and actually telling the ump at first that it was the right call.... it's all show
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Yep, swing at the ball at your neck, good call.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Think we could trade something of marginal value for Profar? Would it even be worth it at this point? there were some Profar trade possibilities done by BP Texas and the return was like #3 starters and such. I think he's absolutely worth it...but it doesn't appear it would be marginal value.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Perfect example of why Pillar should never be in the leadoff spot. ... ever. Like... ever

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 This offence lol. To be fair, it was two designated fielders and Donaldson...
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 We need to find an Eephus specialist, which I can only imagine is the new market inefficiency... We traded him
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I don't see any reason not to bat Pillar at leadoff against lefties given the season he's having. His wrc+ against lefties is 111 with 0 walks on the season. Not sure that's a glowing endorsement for the leadoff spot against lefties.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Every time I see the Rangers they have a new catcher.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Every time I see the Rangers they have a new catcher. Profar for Thole?

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Profar for Thole? Totally. But the Rangers would probably... profar not.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Totally. But the Rangers would probably... profar not. Even if we use Profar as our backup catcher, it's got to be an improvement, right?
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Dude wearing the Bautista bat flip shirt at Rangers stadium has balls the size of cantaloupes...
Hal Johnson Verified Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Totally. But the Rangers would probably... profar not. Yeah, that's a bad trade for the Rangers inprofar as Thole is s***.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 How are these guys 40 games in and still unable to line up good pitches?
