Praxis Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Chavez, Floyd, Saunders, Bautista... If these are our alternative team highlights, we're f***ed.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 My god this team f***ing blows right now.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Do we really not have 1 lefty in the minors that could come up just to get a few outs when called on
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 This team is built around offence that is supposed to compensate for complete s*** pitching. When the offence isn't working...
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Cecil is pretty awful. This is a .500 team. No it isn't. They are underperforming badly right now.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 This team has no pen. The Shatkins fans here keep telling us that the pen is fine and that it's just having a "slow start", well it's not. Cecil and Storen blow. Chavez gives up too many dingers. Floyd is decent. The only good reliever we have is Osuna.

xposbrad Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Martin, Tulo, JB, EE, all have to get traded and this team needs to be rebuilt quickly. It's too bad because the Happ/Estrada signings really solidified the starting pitching.

The starters have given them a chance to win in almost every game. Terribly inconsistent or nonexistent offence and a dumpster fire of a bullpen are the issues. Where the motherf*** is the Cecil of the second half last year? Jesus christ.

Effit Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I have to watch other ball games to know what a competent offense and bullpen look like on both sides, instead of just one team looking lost.

jackie Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Cecil can't get right handed hitters out. If he was used just against lefties he would be ok
nextyear Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Smoak set up that inning. I PVR'ed the game and replayed that play a few times. Smoak backed up on a weak dribbler; there is no way that Donaldson, Tulowitzki or Goins would have backed up on that. This is typical Blue Jays baseball. Sometimes players just take innings off.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 How many heartbreakers is that now? 8? 9? Just uncanny start to the season. Off how many egregious errors too? Team is seriously sloppy and it seems like very few mistakes don't end up as game changers.

CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 So what's our grand total of blown leads so far? 8 or 9?
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Zaun was spot on tonight What did he say?

Yeah but Smoak wasn't the one who gave a double to KK.
nextyear Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 As far as pinch hitting Martin for Goins, Martin is swinging like a 60 year old man and shouldn't pinch hit for anyone.
nextyear Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Then it would have been 1 out and a runner on second. A sac fly or ground ball wouldn't score a runner on second and Cecil wouldn't have as much pressure.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 What did he say? He was showing highlights of all the hittable fastballs in fastball counts that were missed or swung late on. He also was saying on how ridiculous it is to still be guessing when you have two strikes on you (Saunders and Tulo watching two strike meatballs go by), instead of shortening up and look fastball away and adjust to everything else. He also said pitching to Forsythe was a mistake, since he's one of the hottest hitters in the MLB right now, especially with an on deck hitter with below average numbers.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Zaun was spot on tonight I'm wondering why he didn't mention going to the pen rather than putting the tying run on base, which is really what he was saying by saying they should have pitched around Forsythe to get to Happ vs Guyer. IMO going to Chavez there against Forsythe would have been the better play.
