2lowitzki Verified Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 I heard today's game was supposed to be on the main channel... but I heard they showed soccer instead... I know for the last few games, the Jays game was on Sportsnet One because of the NHL Playoffs. I understand that because hockey (especially playoff) has higher priority over the Blue Jays.. However, today was ridiculous.. Heard there was a Jays game scheduled on the main channel today and they showed other things... Looks like all the Jays fans need to send harsh letter to Sportsnet.. I don't like when the Jays game is on Sportsnet ONE, because one of my television doesn't have it.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Whenever the games are on Sportsnet One, you can check reddit for a stream, or if you'd prefer, just ask here and someone will help.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Yeah all at usual Sportsnets E O and W all showed Jays on the program guide. But the were showing soccer. Grrrrr Flipped to SN1 which said soccer but the Jays were on
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Stars/Wild at 3:00. They're not going to start the Jays game at 1:00 if they can't broadcast it in its entirety.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Powerplay move made by Rogers executives They are really afraid of Jays numbers being higher then playoff hockey which they paid billions for as such are doing whatever they can to keep them down. They also gave away clauses to advertisers for free advertising on the Jays telecast if they buy hockey ad packages

Sorrow Verified Member Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Why do you guys not Have SN1? I'm on Bell Fibe, I'm not spending $14/month to get the package that has SN1. I always used to use MLB.TV but didn't get it this season because we got Bell Fibe last summer.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 I believe you get all of the SN channels for $25/month with the new SN now thing.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Why do you guys not Have SN1? I haven't had cable for 5 years now. I stream everything.

Rogers execs trying to protect their behind trying to diminish interest in Jays and Raps. This isn't true at all. Infact its the Jays ratings that are helping cover up some of the losses Rogers is taking from the NHL ratings being so poor. If anyone wants to see the Jays draw high ratings its those Rogers executives at the media division
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 ^ you probably haven't realized how two faced many of these guys are. They will gladly take a smaller pie just as long as the NHL had the largest piece How else can you explain moving a Sunday afternoon Jays game away from Sportsnet and probably sacrificing hundreds of thousands of viewers It's all true
Statman Verified Member Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Gate 3 and 4 was lined up to Front St. by 10:10. It was nuts out there. For those that got bobbleheads what gates did you get them at and what time did you get in line? Great game btw. Edit: Not fully awake yet.

Not the first time to happen and probably not the last.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 I haven't had cable for 5 years now. I stream everything. Bell, Rogers, Telus and Shaw also thank you for not spreading this secret to anyone over the age of 50. Of course they still have us by the balls on the internet plans, but at least you're paying for just one service instead of 2 (or 2 instead of 4 if you include the home phone/cell phone services).

The only reason I have cable is that the difference between the FibreOP plan without it and with it was negligible so I was like might as well.
onwego Verified Member Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Why do you guys not Have SN1? The new Rogers PVR records by: 1) Search for Blue Jays and it gives you only one channel option, which may have given a soccer game, you only have one channel option; or 2) Use the on screen guide and it showed the Blue Jays on channels which wound up showing a soccer game. I know 3 people who had this bait and switch happen to them. They didn't need it.

Once everyone cuts the cable cord you do know you're internet packages will reflect that right.... these companies know how to make money and it won't change.

My work pays for my cellphone, and I use Start.ca as an internet provider (they use the Rogers backbone, but they're way cheaper, no contracts, actually helpful tech support etc.) I can proudly say that none of my money goes (directly) to Bell, Rogers, Shaw or Telus.
onwego Verified Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Wait till you see the stunt pulled for tonight's Jays game Bearing in mind NBA games routinely go 15 or more minutes past the time slot
crazy47larry Verified Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 does sportsnet get to show that newworld cup of hockey thing? or the spengler cup? or any of those other international events nobody really cares about? if the answer is yes then prepare for the jays to keep getting bumped even after the stanley cup
