TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 (edited) These are Chad Girodo's Blue Jays now. the new era! Edited April 23, 2016 by TheHurl
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Its not like Sanchez can choose to strike all these guys out. He just isn't pitching well. He's missing spots a lot, but he's also getting babip'd something fierce. The vast majority of the hits have all been within about 1 foot of a fielder's glove, some of which should have been made. Then there's the double plays we failed to turn and the bad hop over Smoak. This is definitely a group effort tonight.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Martin too. He's been good blocking balls in the dirt this season at least. Can't say the same for the other guys. Maybe this should be a write off game cuz of the Cola news earlier. Probably pretty difficult to be there mentally after hearing what happened to one of your teammates.
jackie Verified Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 THE CC thing has really messed with the teams focus
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Defense has been just awful today. Month* Yup. Month. Tulo has been by far the most consistent. Goins has been ok. Jose throws like his arm is totally shot.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 A's are hot..team is rattled by Colabello news..baseball 4 straight lefties after tomorrow. Even though they are some good ones, it is still going to get the offense going
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Chad Gerado and Hutch called up right, with Cola getting suspended what was the other move we made?
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 4 straight lefties after tomorrow. Even though they are some good ones, it is still going to get the offense going Given what we've seen so far, it's tough to be optimistic. The approach from most of these guys is awful so it's not really a BABIP thing.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Chad Gerado and Hutch called up right, with Cola getting suspended what was the other move we made? Hutch hasn't officially been called up.
King Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Chad Gerado and Hutch called up right, with Cola getting suspended what was the other move we made? *Girodo*
Praxis Verified Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 How has the most vaunted offense in the majors come to this? Carrera leading off, Smoak, Pillar, Goins, Barney (even with his HR!), Martin just s***, Tulo fallen off a cliff, Colabello's career possibly over, JB and EE taking selfish hacks for new contracts. f*** it's painful to watch right now.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Yup. Month. Tulo has been by far the most consistent. Goins has been ok. Jose throws like his arm is totally shot. Pillar has been great too. JD has been bad which is weird. He's got a track record though and maybe the calf has something to do with it.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Chad Gerado and Hutch called up right, with Cola getting suspended what was the other move we made? Hutch hasn't been added yet. I'd assume Venditte or Girodo optioned or Chavez to the DL.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 For all of you hoping that Martin ends up producing like he has for the past two years, realize that Martin has shown several dud seasons, including those with the Yankees. He is certainly capable of sucking.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Pillar has been great too. JD has been bad which is weird. He's got a track record though and maybe the calf has something to do with it. Agreed. Its early. These guys are too talented and proud to continue this trend much longer.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Jays need a 1B. Smoak us just going to keep getting thrown Curves until he can adjust, which he hasn't shown any signs of.
Praxis Verified Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 First XBH Since 2015? Sorry, it just feels that way.
BlueJays Verified Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Man, the Jays are affected with Cola's suspension. That's why they are playing s***.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Martin hasn't had results but his last 9-10 at bats have been good, high pitch count at bats.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 HR pitches missed: 6
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Hutch hasn't officially been called up. *Girodo* Hutch hasn't been added yet. I'd assume Venditte or Girodo optioned or Chavez to the DL. Hmmmm so is he gonna reside in the BP or are we going with a 6 man rotation to limit Stro/Sanchez?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Since 2015? Sorry, it just feels that way. For Martin yes lol
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 *Girodo* Gerardo http://eqmusicblog.com/wp-content/uploads/zxl/6a00d8345206e269e20128766d6455970c-800wi.jpeg
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Man, the Jays are affected with Cola's suspension. That's why they are playing s***. Nope, same approach since the beginning of April. The pitchers "pitch to contact" and our hitters "hit to strikeouts", it's f***ing opposite land.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Hmmmm so is he gonna reside in the BP or are we going with a 6 man rotation to limit Stro/Sanchez? He's making one start and being sent down. We only have two days off in the next little while.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Agreed. Its early. These guys are too talented and proud to continue this trend much longer. Other guys with horrible starts to the season: Abreu: .190/.284/.362 Miggy: .232/.317/.339 Votto: .172/.258/.241 Upton: .226/.262/.323 Fielder: .183/.246/.283 Freeman: .163/.328/.245 Heyward: .200/.314/.233 Pujols: .148/.224/262 A-Rod: .156/.269/.289 We just happen to somehow have bunched almost all our big bats into a slump at once.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
