You guys cite Braun but he's not crying there or anything .He's showing no emotion at all, his voice is monotone. He's reading/memorized a speech somebody else wrote it seems. Bello was talking from the heart in a live interview and you could see tons of emotion..

I don't think anyone is denying that his emotions are genuine.

Like a thief getting caught and having regrets afterwards. I have ZERO sympathy for cheaters.

I don't know Chris Colabello personally, and even if I did, he is the only one that knows weather he intentionally took peds or not.

So just think for a minute, if he is telling the truth, Just how f***ing stupid some of you sound.

What he claims is possible (would be pretty crazy), yet still possible.

If he is telling the truth than it is f***tards like you guys that will make the label of a cheater stick with him forever.

If he is telling the truth, (weather a mistake on his part or someone else's) this could end one of the best stories EVER of a player making pro sports, just when he had finally established himself. Completely ripped away after all the work it took, and on top of it all have to listen to people call him a liar and a cheat

It's Chris Colabello. Nobody is going to remember him. None of this matters.

You are trying to tell me that with his story of how he made it here, and the fact that he hit 321 with 15 home runs in 100 games in the the best season in 25 years of bluejays baseball, you won't remember him after this?

You my friend no longer get to call yourself a jays fan.

I honestly don't care for Bello on the team but not sure he's guilty. Sure, given his situation he's as desperate as they come but IDK. Personally, if someone questions something I pride myself in like integrity, honesty etc…it cuts deeep bc everything I say and do in life is based on those beliefs and values

He was a week or two from being DFA'd. The only reason we're still talking about this marginal player is because he happened to get caught using before the team cut him loose.

Or maybe like he said he was playing the start of the year with a 1000 lb gorilla on his back.

He absolutely was but he was a huge regression candidate anyways. The odds that his performance from last year would carry over were slim to begin with.

I'm sure he was. But he was always a marginal player. Not many people would have expected him to last the season, even back March. The media needs to stop pretending that this matters to anyone but Colabello and his friends on the team.

You saw the Twitter reactions. The media is doing an effective job of making this into a story.

Yeah, they're really milking this. It's embarrassing.

Maybe he shouldn't of taken drugs then.

This matter to ALOT more people than Colabello and his team

This has nothing to do with how good he is. U are telling me that if he is telling the truth than this still doesn't matter to you? That a mans chance to play in the majors might be taken away for cheating without actually cheating? U r telling me that this isn't a guy u rooted for big time, being the guy that grizzled through the minors for his chance. That his story was so unbelievable that u aren't a little crushed by this yourself?

Why would anyone believe him though? His story makes zero sense.

It's a cute story, but also the best thing that could have happened to the Jays. They don't have to pay him during the suspension.

After another week, we will never hear about 'room again

You don't accidentally take anabolic steroids. And he was a few weeks/months from being out of the league anyway, so this doesn't even matter. At least now he can blame this 'injustice' for washing out, instead of just washing out.

Colabello probably shouldn't have bought those Vitamins from Ang.

Who the hell knows if he intentionally took something or not. Multiple guys getting nabbed for something they would have known would be easily detectable makes me think some supplement was tainted or something, or the players didn't do their due diligence before taking a supplement. They're still at fault if it's the latter, but at least there no need to make them villains or something. If it's the former, then players should always keep a few pills from each bottle to be tested just in case something popped up.

If he took the banned substance intentionally, then he's just an idiot.

I am not an expert on taking anabolic steroids, but he was found with traces of parts per trillion. That sounds to me like it could be a very minimal amount ingested in something tainted.

I think he might be able to blame washing out on this injustice, and it's a shame if that's the case.

The substance he took isn't even legal so it seems pretty far fetched that he would have to this through an over the counter supplement. Must have got it from another player. At best, he was careless. At worst, he's lying.

Yeah. I mean, you (presumably) or I aren't going to test positive for synthetic testosterone. This is something you put into your body. When your livelihood depends on not taking illegal steroids, don't expect people to feel bad for you if you test positive for illegal steroids.

Just to be clear, Colabello says he passed a drug test last year during the playoffs. Those who are much smarter and more in touch then me believe he simply used his masking agent properly and slipped up this spring?

I don't hate Bonds. I don't think he should be in the greatest ever discussion.

because there is no conversation and he just is

His best seasons were his age 37-41 years. 47 WAR over those 4 years. Unprecedented.

Under a normal aging curve he doesn't come close to those numbers and finishes quite a distance behind Mays in career WAR.

His age 37-41 output was drug fuelled.

so are you going to discount Mays "drug fueled" age 36 to 43 years?

He said he was tested 5 days prior to the test he was caught, was guessing he got lazy thinking he was in the clear and then they sprung another test on him before he could take the masking agent.

There are holes in his story, and a lot of what he said made no sense (he was checking texts, phone calls, had his dogs urine tested (?!))...bottom line is he's just desperate and instead of being a man he's gonna draw this out and play the victim just like Bautista arguing balls and strikes every game.

Watched Chris Colabello interviewed by @SNETCampbell - really want to give him benefit of doubt. But it's really difficult. #Bluejays #Jays

Nick G @MrNGTV

@Wilnerness590 @SNETCampbell All I know, or rather want to believe is that he took them unintentionally.

"Want to believe" is the key part of your statement. I think we all want to believe that. #Bluejays #Jays

‏@MediocreNinja

@Wilnerness590 You can't not root for the guy even if he made the mistake. Just hope he comes back and performs better than ever.

Mike Wilner ‏@Wilnerness590 2m2 minutes ago

Fair, but taking an oral anabolic steroid on purpose isn't a "mistake". If he did it, it wasn't a mistake.
