Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Author Posted April 6, 2016 Officially Bautista violated the Utley rule...supposedly didn't try to stay on the base....WTF Where'd you see this?

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Where'd you see this? 1 of the MLB reporters on twitter
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Yeah wish Edwin wore one there. I understand you want to hit the winning run but getting hit by a pitch ties the friggin game. It was 0-2 as well.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Author Posted April 6, 2016 1 of the MLB reporters on twitter The ruling is here, Joey Bats blew it. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/170622...ys-rays-ending
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 The problem is, the grabbing of the leg, which I agree is interference, falls under rule 7.09d: The problem is, that rule is not reviewable. 6.14j (aka the Chase Utley rule) is the reviewable play here. the interference rule is repeated in 6.14 so it makes it reviewable now. That's the explanation I was given. Wouldn't have been reversed last year
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Jeez I knew the Jays were striking out a lot but I didn't realize how bad it was. Both Tulo and JD have struck out in half of their PA.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 The big thing is that Jose slid PAST the bag. Runner needs to slide onto the bag and remain on the bag

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I'm not worried. Edwin struck out a crazy amount of times last season in April and he was fine after I'm not worried about Donaldson but Tulo does scare me a bit. I think the power numbers come back but last year his strike out rate surged and nothing I've seen this year (including ST) makes me think its going to change.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 LOL at guy on Jays talk last night suggesting Edwin wasn't "trying hard enough" to hit the ball yesterday. Comedic gold.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I think a lineup with Edwin 5th and Tulo 3rd is way better
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I think a lineup with Edwin 5th and Tulo 3rd is way better Meh Both are really good hitters Doubt it matters much
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I think a lineup with Edwin 5th and Tulo 3rd is way better Edwin >/= Jose > Donaldson > Tulo
