Governator Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I see lots of Blue Jays & Cardinals (and too many Robins/Orioles) I have a rowan berry tree in the middle of my backyard and about every bird in town comes by for snacks late in the summer. It's like a supersized bird feeder.
okbluejays Verified Member Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Shi Davidi with todays lineup! https://t.co/FrKSbe70AL Pompey leading off. Can anyone shed some light on Cecilani for me, please and thanks! Let's play ball!!
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 So instead of using seed mixes, we separated out the seeds and turns out Nyjer seeds and Millet are just filler. Even the small birds seem to prefer the sunflower seeds and peanuts.

What's up with that? lol

Yeah it's not like it's an off-season injury either. It happened during the season. Maybe they just missed the part about Travis not being on those playoff teams?

It'll be a combo of Goins/Barney/Izturis until Travis returns. I really loved Goins in the infield last year. If he plays as well as he did late last year, I hope he remains our #1. I've admittedly never seen Travis play, but the grabs Goins was making in the post-season really make it hard for me to believe Travis is better. If so... Wow.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 There aren't any magpies endemic to Eastern North America, so that would be an especially odd choice for Montreal.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 There aren't any magpies endemic to Eastern North America, so that would be an especially odd choice for Montreal. It's not bilingual either. Cyborg really going to bat for his bad idea though.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Alouettes is the perfect bird name for Montreal. I guess that's why it's already taken.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Shhh go with the alliteration. I would go with the Montreal Mergansers. The most badass of all the diving waterfowl!
Cyborg Verified Member Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I would go with the Montreal Mergansers. The most badass of all the diving waterfowl! Montreal Maniacs.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Any Montreal team will almost certainly just be the Expos, right? Since MLB still owns that trademark or whatever and all rights attached to it.

Got to love the Jays organization on waiting so long to actually properly address his shoulder issues, could have easily been fixed right away with surgery, so frustrating.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Montreal Cormorans Good luck finding another bird that inhabits the area and has a bilingual name.

Nostalgia is the only thing fueling any actual Montreal rumours anyway, so anything other than Expos would be a branding disaster.
