We've been over this three times. I think any player will cheat if given the chance. Did Bagwell? Maybe. I live in North America where people are generally presumed innocent until proven otherwise. I also said I don't care about who cheated; the steroid era was not the fault of the players. Most of them were using and I judge them comparatively. In an era where everyone cheated, Bonds, Clemens, Bagwell still rose above and dominated the sport.

Not on his own merit necessarily. As of right now he wouldn't make my ten since the field is so stacked, but Edgar Martinez was:

1) a much better hitter

2) actually played third for a few years unlike completely position less Ortiz

 

My issue would lie with the fact that the superior player who has the same biases (DHs shouldn't be in the hall) didn't get in while Ortiz did. I think anyone intelligent would have derived that from my post.
