League of Newbs

We recently opened up a spot in one of our other leagues, and there is a lot of interest from some of the newer board participants.

 

I thought it would be a good idea to start a new league, with new players.

This league is just for new people that aren't in any of the big dynasty leagues: DDL, BBDL or LOD.

 

It will also be a proving ground, for those looking for a chance to get into one of the dynasty leagues, with the board veterans.

I'm not going to participate, but I'll help organize and get it off the ground.

 

Post here if you are interested. This will be a one-year league with the standard 7x7 categories done through Yahoo (free).

 

AVG, OBP, SLG, R, RBI, HR, SB

 

ERA, WHIP, K/BB, K, W, SV, HLD

Might be hard to get 20 guys who aren't in any of those leagues. Be careful you aren't signing up the same guy 3 times only to let him stack a team with fishy trades.

I've long suspected North of managing two DDL/LOD teams and subtly using his lesser identity to improve the Pharm Team and Brewers. If anyone can pull it off, it's him.

The forum definitely needs a way for the newbies to assert themselves into the fantasy fun.

 

And the fact that people are checking out these forums in the offseason, 2 days before Christmas tells me they're probably pretty into baseball.

Not sure where trying to win a World Series has anything to do with Fantasy. Trading Hoffman for Pitcher at the beginning of the year might have. We didn't need more offense.
