I can add another good fantasy player if we need. If these guys are trash you can boot me too. But I can guarantee they’ll stick around a rebuild so we won’t have to worry about replacing them next year. Might gain a couple of posters too

Probably depends on where your team is in the competitive cycle, but as a middle of the road or rebuilding team, I would rather own Adell.

Agreed. 'roughly equivalent value' as per my post above. And for TCA, with Ramirez at 3B rendering Josh 'surplus', they should value Adell higher.

I'll take Donaldson pretty easily over Adell in any situation.

 

But I guess that Jim can take the opinion from the guy who doesn't think Betts is a premium player as gospel, though.

I guess you're right. You being so wrong about Adell vs. Donaldson is easily able to stand on its own two feet. Didn't really need to stretch anything.

It's less about that and more about how Adell is a very risky prospect in an org that sucks at everything. Also, yes, I'll learn my lesson. Anyone over 30 is basically Miguel Cabrera and every single one will just fall off a cliff for one reason or another. David Ortiz has never played baseball, no idea who that guy is.

 

We should call it the Miguel Cabrera rule where you need to trade any star the moment he hits the age of 30 for any prospect that comes your way, immediately. No shopping around allowed.

Jo Adell is already a consensus Top 10 prospect in baseball. I'd love to take a chance on a guy who could be the next Acuna. Naturally, there is a large chance he will be the next Brinson, but the tools are exceptional. Donaldson only projects for a 126 wRC+ next season, and at best has another 3 good fantasy seasons. The chances of Josh Donaldson being the next Adrian Beltre are probably even worse than the chances of Adell being the next Acuna.
