I actually wouldn’t be terribly surprised about this.

I only have one accoount in the league, since I decided to take my Silvergun persona out of it, in order to turn it into a full-time troll.

BTS, what was the ruling on Ohtani? I can promote just the pitcher for the time being or has to be both at once?

You can leave hitter Ohtani on the farm.

The BORED thread turned into a two-page discussion about LoD. Me likey dat.

But, hey, LoD is s a for sure doomed league, guyzzzz.

Posted
It's honestly more active than any league on the board has ever been, and has the best group of owners it's ever had. BORED has been slow lately, but LoD has never been better.

BORED is relatively new and top heavy, not much need for a lot of action, to be honest.

People have been saying the forum is dying since at least 2003. Really it slows down a lot when the team isn’t competitive and picks up when it is.

With the MLB boards going away, this place may actually see a significant increase.

MLB boards are being shut down?

I'm only staying in this league because I own Harper, Judge and Acuna. Owning that talented of an OF will never happen again.

I have had good offers for Gary Sanchez come in, but if anyone wants to let me keep him, I’d gladly trade Alfaro and my 1st for a SP.

K man, you been dragging this out for three weeks now, soliciting offers from multiple parties, and trying to start bidding wars. You gonna trade him or what?

I’ve been nothing but honest to you since the beginning of my hestistance to trade him. Sorry that I offended you by giving you a vague breakdown of the other offers I was considering. If I went with another trade partner I didn’t want you complaining that I didn’t give you a chance to match.

I’m finally back to work full time since my ankle broke so I’m covering all the OT I can, also while looking at houses and getting Wedding stuff in check. I don’t see the need to jump at the first trade offer I see, so if you don’t like the way I’m handling it you can rescind your offer if you’d like. If and when I decide to trade Sanchez I’ll certainly let you know since you have expressed interest.

Apparently when contemplating a trade of an elite dynasty asset you should be prompt and not allow others to get bids in.

Sorry man, didn't mean to rush you by giving you only 5 WEEKS to make a decision.

Yeah I mean pretty sure it works like that in real life. Some talks occur, most times doesn’t go anywhere but then months down the road talks heat back up (or never does)

It’s really up to the inquiring team I’d say to be like “is there any way we can get this deal done now” if they want it bad enough. And if not, don’t let it make you butthurt. Like JG made a standing offer to me for Donaldson one time and it was interesting so not worth a get lost or no response... but it was like a “I’ll keep it in mind” thing

Its ok to not even respond to a trade proposal. Thats how it is the real business world too. In fact, our lawyers always tell us, if you don't need to respond, don't.

The problem when you don't respond at all your less likely to get offers in the future. It literally takes 2 secs to hit decline or say "no thanks" .

I don't care how s*** an offer is I'll always respond and in return I have tons of trade dialogue all the time

Oh I agree. I've responded to every one sent my way, but some i have sent, no response. Which is fine.

There’s no one way to do be. You’re of the “North” ilk where you’ll spam out tons of lowball offers and sometimes get some bites. Not really an insult as this is probably the most effective way one can roster build.

Not everyone is going to respond to offers they aren’t interested in. That’s why many people actually put their best deal (or close to it) right off the bat. Usually this get dialogue, I know how that’s I am and other people are like that too. So whichever way you are, you’ll find yourselves dealing best with like-minded people and I’m sure that’s what it’s like with mlb GMs too

some do their homework and learn the other party's player preferences, valuation of prospects and picks vs. MLB regs etc and craft a proposal that way

i'm not blind to the tricks

i mention something about margot in around baseball and a few days later he is offered to me in some unbalanced proposal lol

I really don't think I spam a bunch of low ball offers. I know some people did not like some of the offers when I decided to make 30 offers to every owner in the LoD in an hour but that's kind of to be expected because I took literally 15 seconds on each one and some people liked them and some did not.

That's something I have only done once when bored though.

I feel like I sent you a bad offer once or something and this is clouding your view because I never had many trade negotiations with you so not sure where that's coming from.
