This is how I found out connor left my redraft league. Not even a "hey, I'm out". Some people.

I’m forced to make an alt account for first time ever. I will sign out and abide by ban after. I’m sure if you scroll past bet post, I clearly say terms are e-pay. There was clear grey in this bet, and so I tried to see what Spanky thought about doing different. I prob would do what I suggested but he doesn’t have to and so I’ll pay. However, in America we use Zella and Venmo. You guys don’t have that and have e-transfer. His options are as follows as I tried to see to BTS via email:

Obviously in BORED, I’m fond of you, Spanky, Laila, Jim, etc and clearly I’m playing and not mad. Definitely way different than your blowout with L54 and Spanky with him, but I just rub people the wrong way and it’s an issue now. When you take busting your guys balls away, takes a lot of the joy out for me. So Jim was banning me from chat was kind of end for me. I made quick jabs for kicks and then keep it to the league

 

Then Spanky and me are debating our bet in PM and he says he’ll call me a welcher on the board, I’m like wait until I’m unbanned so I can present my side. He says too late. I present it to bbdl and ask if it’s fair to transfer the bet there, even offer to give Spanky free play, he loses and doesn’t way. Only to win he beats me there. Jim again starts with same stuff and so just that was it. Same thing will happen again. Not a fit anymore.

 

Been fun playing with everyone over the years. Going to get my fix as newbie in other leagues. When I come back to the board, I’ll try not to go full troll like this last time. Always just me getting some kicks anyway.

 

Don’t let Spanky call me a welcher. If people want to say a bet is bet. So be it. It’s $50 and I spend that on Uber eats all the time I’m sure somewhere near that bet post I said pay terms have to be electronic. I’m not mailing something. Since you guys don’t do Zelle and Venmo (that’s equivalent of Canada e-transfer), he gets the choice of PayPal or can do $50 virtual credit credit through Amazon to use wherever he wants.

I’m not going to play the small violin bc what’s done is done. I was replaced in like 30m lol. But I mean, our exchange that night I’m quite clearly joking around and announcing major moves, just with some patented flair. I may stick a little jab in for kicks but then it’s to the league or baseball. Bc of the guys quitting, I was intending to not do my full shtick with Spanky and also, in cases like the you and L54 thing, not get in the middle fanning the flames. Jim was clearly just going to moderate the s*** out of me (straight ban me actually) and as I said, that took a lot of the fun out for me.

 

Besides the newbs though, there’s also some other people in the league that I really rub the wrong way, so it was probably for the best. Unlike LOD, I left that team loaded between current and upcoming blue chips. Same with bbdl.

Don’t worry, folks. I have only retired from bjmb fantasy. The golden era is kinda gone, now they’re basically mixed leagues, and with Jim and BTS hard turn left, it was time. I’m going to seek new challenges in money leagues. I do feel it’s appropriate to kind of give a retiring HOF speech. Since it’d be better in 3rd person, I’m employed a ghost writer Tom Finn, to pen the following: Tom Finn wrote the following, not me.

 

“All great things come to an end. To truly understand Connorps impact on the leagues, one must go back 20+ years to a time when mlb had team message boards. They were mostly wastelands like the current bjmb with a GDT and a couple of random threads. Not much engagement and that’s why the boards went to way of the dodo. But fortunately for the Jays board, one day along came a young charismatic poster that would challenge the conventional wisdoms and change the mudane. Soon 100 page threads became a thing and animated battles led to increased engagement for all. So one could liken Connor’s impact to the bjmb like something Bane Ruth did for baseball.

 

Soon the established community would create fantasy leagues. Being the villain, Connorp was originally excluded from the first group of friends that made a league. But he was able to land in the second go around of knowledgeable fans. His redraft dominance was immediately apparently. Which he parlayed into the bbdl dynasty league. At the height of this fever, the 30 team LOD was formed, with all the best people. It would only be a couple years before Connorp would capture his title here as well.

 

Like Michael Jordan upon his first retirement, the success had left Connorp unchallenged and he relinquished 2/3 of his 3 Dyansty leagues and toiled in the one he kept. But soon the chatter would turn against his accomplishments, sort of like Barry Bonds. Asterisks were made on trophies and it was said Connorp could not rebuild.

 

Up for this challenge, Connorp returned and did just that over a few years with his dynasty squads, and built teams that have the pieces for long run successes and title runs. Alas, like when the WWF star faded a bit and the WCW or whatever alternative there was to that, became intriguing, it was time to move on.
