connorp Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 I guess not in mlb capital though
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 How often are C fantasy relevant? Outside of the guys like Bart and AR (who are hardly sure things), I’m not sure if picking a C in the first couple rounds is the best strategy. So you shouldn’t regret the miss I see both sides of it. Have to fill the roster spot, and there aren't enough good ones to go around.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 OF Canaan Smith - NYY Speaking of good picks.. You guys did really well with Shane McClanahan. Same thing, I didn't realize he was available. I have him in BBDL and is probably my favorite pitching prospect.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 f*** me. I would’ve beaten that Feel free to submit an offer for Jose Berrios.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Feel free to submit an offer for Jose Berrios. If you’re willing to move VG, I was talking about a package of top tier milb assets. Might make sense for you rebuilding and needing more holes to plug. I see the deal kind of made sense for King being in win now mode

So you shouldn’t regret the miss Yes, let's just avoid drafting good hitting catcher prospects. I assume this line of thinking is how we got to take Kirk at 27. These are all just lottery tickets and I have absolutely no problem taking a flyer on a guy who can rake at an incredibly weak fantasy position.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Anyone want Kolby Allard or Justin Dunn for a 2022 3rd round pick, let me know in the next 30 mins
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 I am curious what kind of prospects you could have offered that would have been worth more than Buehler At least Bart, Kopech, and Grayson to start. Negotiable from there in terms of me adding. For a rebuilding team it’d make more sense i guess. For you, no prob
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Can someone put the 2022 pick poll on fantrax?
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Anyone want Kolby Allard or Justin Dunn for a 2022 3rd round pick, let me know in the next 30 mins Guess not. My draft is done: Daniel Lynch, SP - KCR (FG #73) Noelvi Marte SS - SEA via Jose Garcia and minor pick swap Jared Kelley SP - CWS Tahnaj Thomas SP - PIT Arol Vera SS - LAA Alexfri Planez - OF - CLE Objective coming into the draft was to get high rated prospects that are 3-5 years away given the relative youth of my team. Other than Lynch who is probably up next season, objective met.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Fantrax appears to be down - Infrastructure issues..

I have him in BBDL and is probably my favorite pitching prospect. I think getting McClanahan at 30 made up for the lack of a first rounder. Definitely must have been a few who didn't realize he wasn't available, not sure how he wasn't picked last year. Only noticed because I did some lazy scouting, ranking available players by owned percentage.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 So Jim is passing, L54 hasn't made his last pick yet, and EZe is up. Everyone who was skipped will have until midnight to make their picks.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Jim may still pick:) It’s almost over, 10m won’t kill you
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Ok. Well I guess if Jim let’s me know by draft end he could pick
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 If it's OK, I will move Allard to CP for his 2022 3rd rounder, and make my pick?
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 If it's OK, I will move Allard to CP for his 2022 3rd rounder, and make my pick? I don't see why not.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 TCA Gets - Vlad Jr KingFiller gets - Walker Buehler Pretty big deal. Thoughts from the peanut gallery? I vastly prefer the Vladdy side, but it's probably a fair deal trade-wise.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Allard to Connor for his 2022 3rd rounder. Trevor Rogers, SP - MIA to fill my last MiLB slot.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Walker Buehler is *maybe* the best dynasty pitcher in baseball, but I’ve never invested in a young sexy ace who didn’t break. Noah Syndergaard and Jose Fernandez pretty much ripped my heart out. So I’d take Vladdy by a longshot even though right now he just seems like an obese Maikel Franco.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Tahnaj is a personal favourite, so much raw ability Yeah, JimmyC stung me twice with Kelley and Tahnaj.

EZe Verified Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 I won’t be making the final pick. Please disintegrate pick 121.
King Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Walker Buehler is *maybe* the best dynasty pitcher in baseball, but I’ve never invested in a young sexy ace who didn’t break. Noah Syndergaard and Jose Fernandez pretty much ripped my heart out. So I’d take Vladdy by a longshot even though right now he just seems like an obese Maikel Franco. Here's our perspective of the trade. Vlad has not really developed as hoped and although he's still 21 he's going to lose 3B eligibility next year. We have Goldy and Olson locked in at 1B. We don't have a lot of room to take on prospects or picks, or position players and we are trying to compete. So from our perspective, we weren't going to get offered a better pitcher than Buehler for Vlad. The trade makes a lot of sense for us beyond the 1 for 1 value swap and I think that by getting Buehler we were able to maximize our return.
