EZE is/has been at the Phoenix open all this week and I don't think he has time to work on trades...

I'm no longer in this league, but I do feel compelled to chime in on the fact that the Syndergaard for Pohtani offer - which is favourable for the Syndergaard side, by the way - wasn't accepted for the betterment and streamlining of the league is pretty s*****, imo. Even if you're not aboard the Syndergaard train, you could easily flip him for a nice little haul.

 

You won't get a better offer than that unless, say, Carlos Danger overpays. Merging the two assets is absolutely vital for the league to function properly next season.

Looking at various website rankings, Syndergaard has the overall consensus edge over POhtani. As others have said, the deal is weighted heavily to the POhtani side. But who knows what POhtani does, he's still very much a wildcard (more than pitchers go). I know EZE rates POhtani very high. He could be right. Maybe some conditional compensation depending on performance is in order.

 

Even overall rankings, where Ohtani value as both hitter and pitcher considered, Syndergaard comes out ahead in 2 of the 3 lists below (due to coming back from injury, no doubt).

Considering I like Ohtani and don't care about my roster in this league. Why don't the 2 Ohtani parties work out something with my roster involved and I will just blindly accept it. In exchange for this good deed to the league. I automatically win every lottery we I am involved in for the next 3 seasons (including getting first pick in any dispersal draft I decide to participate in).

I suppose. My team of a shitload of top 200 assets but zero top 50 assets doesn't get it done the way they are rating Ohtani (which is interesting as Ohtani isn't a top 50 asset himself).

 

The best part is that as I tried to dismantle my team I've started to like them more. Chris Sale is now my favourite player just because everyone else criminally underrates him because they are concerned about 2025, when they won't have any players from their current team anyway. My offer still stands if they can find enough multiple assets to get this done, then do it.

Springer is really good. He’s a lot older than Ohtani, but I’m glad to just resolve this and move on.
