Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 So how would it be feasible to get to 14 at the cut?? Adding prospects by trade after the draft.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 Adding prospects by trade after the draft. That’s dumb. Boo

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 What’s the respectable amount of guys to promote to your roster before the draft. 4-5?
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 What’s the respectable amount of guys to promote to your roster before the draft. 4-5? You’ve been in this league four years Connor.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 You’ve been in this league four years Connor. Yeah, we’ll I’ve never rebuilt. Obviously for the sake of my rebuild I’d rather squeeze some more prospects on my roster rather than having shitbags but want to be fair to the league. I’m setting lineups and such and will to the end so there’s that.

Outside of that I think anything is game with regards to holding prospects.

You basically nuke the value of prospects when you promote them anyway, to the extent that rotating through potentially interesting MLB players is probably a better use of spots.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 That’s dumb. Boo No it is not. You maximize the number of players you control and hence the number of potential breakout players.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 You’ve been in this league four years Connor. lol

BTS Community Moderator Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 (edited) OK, I'm going to try to sell you people on Sandy Alcantara: - he's 23 and sits 95.5 with a 4-pitch mix - he looks like an elite contact manager: 90th percentile exit velocity, and 87th percentile hard hit %. It's how he's managed sub-4 ERAs in the majors despite markedly worse peripherals - he swinging strike % in the majors is sitting at 11.6% He'll need to be promoted before our draft, and I'm not in a great position to roster him while waiting on his command to improve, but there's high end upside here to a team looking more to the future. He's kind of Aaron Sanchez, with actual evidence for contact management skills and no blister issues. I'd like to move him in a deal for a very good reliever. Edited June 6, 2019 by BTS
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 No you don't, lol. Liar liar pants on fire. I do so. Maybe not daily switches all the time but I log in literally every day

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Surprised Spanky isn’t complaining about no Pham.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Surprised Spanky isn’t complaining about no Pham. That's because he still hasn't dropped a player so that Pham can be added
The Bad Guy Verified Member Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Trade with BTS. Pagan for Alcantara
The Bad Guy Verified Member Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Was Tommy Pham traded or dropped?
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Trade with BTS. Pagan for Alcantara Confirmed
The Bad Guy Verified Member Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Confirmed Good doing business. Now I don’t have to count Alcantara’s appearances anymore trying to poach him all year
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Was Tommy Pham traded or dropped? Dropped, have to wait for Spanky to drop a player and then he'll be added to his team. Guys please don't pick up Tommy Pham lol.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Good doing business. Now I don’t have to count Alcantara’s appearances anymore trying to poach him all year Just fyi, that's not how it works
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Good doing business. Now I don’t have to count Alcantara’s appearances anymore trying to poach him all year I respect the hustle, but players who’s MiLB eligibility expire aren’t available until the next cut has passed. I would have had to leave him on my farm through the cut for him to become a free agent.
The Bad Guy Verified Member Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Just fyi, that's not how it works No? If they hit their minimum targets and haven’t been called up, I can’t scoop them?
