Any of you young folks have a presence on Reddit or the twitter and want to see if anyone is interested? If nothing changes in the coming weeks we might have to consider contraction.

 

I'd say wait until spring training starts. We'll probably see a jump in people poking around the forum, and interest will likely pick up.

This is looking grim. The BBDL was pretty bad last year with drop outs mid season and general inactivity. We did better but not so optimistic about this season. A merge sounds intriguing but I think it's pretty much the same owners.

I'm a member of facebook blue jays fan club, its good for some laughs. If I recruited members through there, expect to get plenty of interest. Might be some lopsided trades though.

Not sure why contraction is so taboo. 20 teams isn’t a magic number. I guess I know more people prefer the “LOD-type” realism with barren FA options but I think it’s kinda cool to pick up a halfway decent player to follow, especially when you have a guy go down

I don't know if Contraction is possible on Yahoo, so you'd lose the league history, but outside of that I don't mind the concept. I believe depth is what makes dynasty pools though.

As Nick suggested, we can keep the depth and make replacement level the same. Instead of 20 teams with 25 man rosters and 22 keepers, we run a dispersal draft on the assets of those teams and then have 18 teams with 28 man rosters and 24 keepers. Not much would have to change, we can do 3 divisions of 6 (I think?) or just scrap divisions.

Yeah, this is an option. I would like to at least see if Jim (or anyone else) can dig up interest from another site. It would be fun to add new players to the league, and if they suck we can revisit next year.

Dabayner has a site where he recruits potential Dynasty players, the turnover was near half the League and these guys are far better than some of the stiffs we had in the FC, I'll give him a shout, bruh!

I’ve been in communication with him for a few weeks. Can confirm that a) he’s been lurking here for over two years, his accounts don’t raise any red flags in the mod software, and c) he communicates like a normal person. Given that we still need two owners and it’s almost January, I don’t really see any harm in rolling the dice.
