jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Confirmed. What's the full deal?
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 What's the full deal? Ryon Healy, Drew Pomeranz and A.J. Reed for Kyle Seager.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Ry-on Rai-own Rye-oun Dear Mrs. and Mr. Healy, Why did you have to put an "o" there? It's like I finally don't have to deal with Jhonny Peralta anymore and Ry-on is here to take his place.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 It sounds like a space age fabric.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Ryon Healy, Drew Pomeranz and A.J. Reed for Kyle Seager. That's a killing imo. My opinion is worthless but that's a great return for Seager.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Dings why give up so much for Seags? Healy seems like a palatable 20 team option already. Seager is decent but it's not like he is a monster. Pomz could be very valuable if he stays alive and Reed will make you regret this.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Maybe Dinger didn't want to look at Ry on everytime he checks his team. I know I wouldn't.

Pomeranz has been nothing but an injured disappointment since the day I traded for him. The other two I do like, but have concerns about. Healy could be an OBP liability and might not be so hot once pitchers start pitching him up, plus he's already been moved off 3B and could lose eligibility as soon as next season. I like Reed, although he could quickly become a dead asset. I'll still pull for him. Seager is still the best player in the deal, I think the only way I'll really regret it is if A.J. Reed becomes the masher we thought he might be last offseason.

Obviously there are red flags all over his body but pitchers are pitchers.

Obviously there are red flags all over his body but pitchers are pitchers. I gave up Yelich & Sano for McCutch, Todd Frazier, Drew Pomeranz, right before Pomeranz got traded and proceeded to suck/be hurt for the rest of the season. I do agree I gave up a lot, in fact I told P2F several times it made me uncomfortable and I had to sleep on it. At the end of the day, if I lose a trade to a rebuilding team with a good owner, I can live with that.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Seager is decent but it's not like he is a monster. Actually I disagree with this. He did have a monster year. His wRC+ was on par with Betts, Encarnacion, Cespedes, Goldy, Braun. Safeco dings him a bit, but still had a monster year.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 TBH I just acquired Kyle to keep Corey happy.

The biggest worry with Reed for me is that the Astros are stupid AF.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Guys don't just forget how to hit. I like Reed so I'm not going to strongly disagree with you, but he has yet to prove he can hit major league pitching. I don't WANT him to fail! But there's a good chance he might.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Hmm I liked the Seager side. What a shocker.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 What a shocker. Seager is the stud in the deal and the other guys are a bad season from waiver territory.

I'm not convinced Healy is legit, and Pomeranz isn't anything special imo (although certainly serviceable). Reed is the one that could really make someone regret the trade.

Yes, that Justin Turner who has been quite excellent for 3 years now. Ginger connection. Dodgers fan picks Schwarber. Defensible at least. Javy Baez picks the entire Cubs franchise Kris Bryant takes Dansby Swanson. Me like. Dan Otero refuses to name non-Injuns and picks Jose Ramirez who will probably be overdrafted if anything since he broke out last year. Pre-pubescent Injuns fan picks the very un-sleepery Alex Bregman "He's young, has a lot ahead of him and he can hit DINGERZZZ" Do people even know what a sleeper is? Baez was my favourite. Does he not understand English? Baez suxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Do people even know what a sleeper is? Clearly not, since literally none of those guys are sleepers. Lol @ Schwarber, the guy is a Top 50 pick in most drafts. People are already paying for production that has never been actualized, that's the complete opposite of a sleeper.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Who is your deepest of sleeper pick for 2017? Justin Smoak baby
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Keon Broxton, Ryon Healy, Rob Gsellman, Jorge Alfaro I define a sleeper as someone who is mostly undrafted in shallow leagues and isn't an elite prospect, but who could conceivably become fantasy-relevant across all formats.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Who is your deepest of sleeper pick for 2017? Not specific to my team: Guys like Zunino, Javy Baez himself, Soler, Paxton all seem like possible sleeper picks. Guys bouncing back (besides the obvious) could be someone like a Choo or Yan Gomes, etc
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 None of these players are sleepers. I'd give you guys some actual examples but I can't afford to -- it's how I stay in business.

In that case Jharel Cotton, Jordan Montgomery/Chad Green, Andrew Triggs, Austin Hedges?, Kennys Vargas, Ryan Schimpf, Koda Glover,
