Then it would really have been an "elite league" since the prerequisite for an invitation is past success. You have to win to get in, every year.

 

This just looks like a new 20 team dynasty league that won't be any different than if you had just said, "hey who wants to do a new 20 team league like the DDL/BBDL?"

I don't really see the need to call it an 'elite league' or anything. It's just a second DDL/BBDL that will consist of people with good track records of participation. And that's fine.

It's tough enough to fill a 20 team league, without limiting it to past champions. The only way you could really make an elite league would be to reach out to other forums, and get their bests to participate.

How is the guy with the best record in bbdl after 2 years not nominated? Also I have a redraft title and last year in PL I had one of best teams PR wise. My LOD team isnt really that bad and I think I'll get a playoff spot this year.

My admitted weakness in fantasy is not trolling the waiver wire in a 30 team league to improve my roster. I wouldn't ever join a league like that again though.

Let's scrap this notion of elitism and call this what it really is: invitational. Then we can discriminate against whoever we want without having to rationalize it! Besides, BTS and jaysblue have shown acumen in many other leagues outside of DDL, criteria which I would consider in the "elite" discussion.

If (when) I improve my RP (which is really the only area you can acquire impact players for picks), my LOD team projects as a playoff team. Outside of Kemp and Cano, I drafted pretty good. Those guys have always been 2 of my favorite players and I let that cloud my judgement but wouldn't on another go around.

ELITE LEAGUE

Hello, you've been selected by your peers to participate in the elite league dynasty.

 

How it works,

 

 

-looking for members with the best track records of success, participation in offseason and board activity also a factor in selection. The competition will be tough, this isn't a league of marks.

 

-your fantasy peers have been polled regarding the best players on the blue jays message board, a list of 20 members has been proposed.

 

-the goal is to assemble the best and most active competition on the board and get them into one league, this won't work if someone is not on board.

 

-this will be a ddl/bbdl clone held on yahoo eg. rules.

 

-the majority of scoring categories (especially saber inclined) ie. k/9,bb/9 or k/bb etc. will be proposed and will be voted on by each member, the results will determine the format. Some minor changes could be refreshing such as walks as a hitting counting instead of OBP or HR allowed for pitching as well as rules changes to prospect limits and draft rounds.

 

-looking for a few volunteer commish's and someone to assist with a dedicated website (to be provided) to upload rosters and post trade blocks, useful for when yahoo shuts down.

 

please reply with your confirmed participation, once the members are established we will discuss and vote on start dates and rules.

 

If we can't get this up and running in time we can defer to the 2017 season as a start.
