If management thinks this way and brings in a Byung-Ho Park to provide more offense, or a Chris Davis then I think the Blue Jays will be losers for many more years.

Didn't 2015 show that the Blue Jays need defense as much as offense?

Why can't they get both?

I sent twitter to Shi Davidi and Barry Davis about this, and they didn't even tweet about that.

This may mean

1. The Blue Jays did not make a bid..

2. The Blue Jays won the bid, but the team set 'press embargo', so they are not allowed to spread the news until certain date.

The only story Barry Davis will ever break is what the players had for lunch in the clubhouse.

Isn't Eric Thames the Barry Bonds of Korea? Why the f*** are we not bringing him back?

This is the best post in this thread.

If the Blue Jays announce that they are bringing David Price back or another high quality pitcher then that will be welcome news. Bringing into a Byung-Ho Park will signal regression in management philosophy and it will be time for me to find another team to root for.

Huh? We have one of the best defensive CF, 3B, SS, and C in the game (probably THE best defensive C), a very solid defensive 2B (Travis was underrated defensively). The only position on the infield questionable defensively is 1B and LF and RF are merely below average and not total liabilities (okay, LF a bit worse than below average with Revere's arm).

Here are the odds

AL EAST

Red Sox: They have Travis Shaw as their first baseman, but they are also considering moving Hanley Ramirez to first, so maybe or not likely..

Yankees: Absolutely not likely.. They already have Teixeira, and they also have Greg Bird on deck once Tex leaves..

Rays: Not likely.. because they are the team with low payroll

Blue Jays: They have too many first baseman, but I doubt Smoak will not return to the team.. maybe or not likely

Orioles: They don't have first baseman right now, and they said that they lost the bid

AL Central

Detroit: Miguel Cabrera.. and Victor Martinez as a DH, so NO.

Kansas City: Eric Hosmer..

White Sox: Jose Abreu

Twins: They have Mauer at first and Miguel Sano as a DH, but many people say they can be the front runner

Indians: Maybe or likely.. Carlos Santana isn't really reliable

AL West

Texas: Heard they are not the front runner

Angels: Pujols for next 6 or 7 years.. and CJ Cron is also there too

Oakland: Danny Valencia, Mark Canha, Billy Butler.. Too many options, plus they have no money

Seattle: They already have Mark Trumbo, but he is similar to JP Arencibia

Houston: Chris Carter...

Lol at bringing Price back.

Cause paying a pitcher 25+ AAV in his mid to late 30's is a much better use of resources than spending less than a quarter of that on a young hitter.

Lol goddamn.

Ben Revere is an average fielder for his career and certainly looked the part last year. He's no Pillar, but he's certainly not a liability.

There is however a very good chance he's going to get more than he's worth in arbitration though.

Devon Travis played in 62 games of the 162 games in 2015, and the Blue Jays were 10 games under .500 in the games in which he played. He only had 238 plate appearances. Devon Travis had nothing to do with the Blue Jays getting to the ALCS.

Devon Travis isn't underrated defensively, he did not contribute anything defensively to the Blue Jays getting to the post season. That is simply a fact.

Can you do that for the NL now? I'm way too lazy.

I admit I have a horrible memory, but I believe we won quite a few extra games in April due to his bat and some very clutch hits. Devon Travis had nothing to do with the Blue Jays struggling a bit in the first half of the season.

his batflip would go well with this lineup

Off the top of my head, you have the Rockies and Pirates with obvious needs and the Phils, Brewers, Padres, Cardinals, and Marlins who could make room for him.

Phillies make sense to me. I'm going with them.

I'll go with the Rockies, but I never get these things right.

The combination of Jose Reyes at SS and Devon Travis at 2B was a defensive catastrophe. Goins at SS and Travis at 2B was slightly better. Reyes at SS and Goins at 2B was actually a decent combination (but not as good as Tulowitzki and Goins).

Tulowitzki at SS and Devon Travis at 2B is defensively an unknown. 20 years without going to the post season has shown that the Blue Jays can't win by focusing on offense.

Jose Reyes was definitly a defensive catastrophe, I agree. I also agree defence is massively important, I love good defence.

I also believe Tuoo and Travis will be more then fine defensively.

The National League

NL WEST

Dodgers: Clear NO (Adrian Gonzalez)

DBacks: Clear NO (Paul Goldschmidt)

Rockies: Maybe or likely (Morneau is a free agent, and Wilin Rosario sucks)

San Diego: dunno

San Fran: Clear NO (They have Brandon Belt, and Posey sometimes plays at 1B)

NL Central

Cardinals: Maybe or likely (They have Brandon Moss, Matt Adams, Stephen Piscotty, but they are lacking productions)

Cubs: Clear NO (Rizzo)

Cincinnati: Clear NO (Votto)

Pittsburgh: Maybe or likely (Pedro Alvarez is the worst defenseman....)

Milwaukee: Not likely (They exercised the option of Adam Lind)

NL East

Mets: Clear NO (DUDA~~~~)

Nationals: Maybe or no (Zimmerman is playing at first, but he is fragile like Tulo)

Phillies: Dunno

Braves: Clear NO (FREEMAN)

Marlins: hmmm
