Would you sign Mark Lowe to a 3/11 contract? I would. And I wouldn't blame management if he bombed.

 

My point was it seems as though a lot of 2nd basemen fall off the cliff (or up the stairs - that was beautiful CHRIS) in their early 30's. I'm not sure how that relates to Mark Lowe, although I must say I think he's a risky investment and yes I would be leery of giving him a 3 year deal.

Funny looking back how there were posters on here crying about Matt West and Preston Guilmet being sent to the minors instead of Osuna.

I bring up Mark Lowe because I think you'd have a hard time showing that a 32-year old 1-win 2B is more likely to turn into a pumpkin than a 32-year old 1-win reliever.

 

In either case, it would be easy to say "of course the 32-year old bombed - bad signing", but I think 90+% of the forum would give that contract to Lowe.

Yeah merging this into another (generic) thread was stupid. Doesn't matter how unimportant the topic is. Someone will glance, see there's no topic, and start one, and then it's even more splintered than before.

 

Merging two threads of the exact same topic into one is good, but merging a specific one into a generic one is not something I agree with.

I agree that threads like this shouldnt be merged into generic threads like offseason. I mean arguably, everything could be merged into that one thread since the season is over and all current discussion revolves around the offseason.

 

With respect to the options, no surprise at all. Dicky may have been a question mark back in July, but his play in the last half earned him a cheap option.
