I honestly don't see anything that warrants the Harper hate.

 

Is it the arrogance? I don't think he was arrogant outside of his minor league days. When he was called up he didn't do anything outrageous.

 

I think people are just jealous that someone so young is going to be so good. And he knows he is good.

Honestly, the issue is that the other players are jealous of how good Bryce is at age 22. I honestly feel this is where all that "he has to earn blah blah" ******** comes from.

 

That players were willing to support a supreme douchebag like Papelbon over Harper (whom I really don't even find to be overly arrogant, just honest and team oriented) is very telling. Remember, he was hailed as the next huge thing when he was like 17. I bet players enjoyed watching him fail expectations until he shat all over them this year.
