P2F Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 (edited) This may be the only prospect list of its kind - and it's ranked for fantasy. You could argue it's rather egregious in some cases, but here it is for shiggles... Here's the primer for the rankings (I highly recommend reading this before checking out the rankings): http://www.fantasypros.com/2016/01/top-400-worldwide-mlb-prospects-primer/ and here are the rankings: http://www.fantasypros.com/2016/01/top-400-worldwide-mlb-prospects Edited January 23, 2016 by P2F

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Is Bubba Starling good again? Still striking out at a high rate but he has good power. I honestly can't see him becoming anything special though.

BA top-10 Royals 2016 5. Bubba Starling, OF Future Tools: 60 arm, 60 glove, 55 speed Role: 50—Average regular in the outfield The difference between the version of Starling on display in the Arizona Fall League in 2015 and 2014 was night and day, and multiple scouts said the same thing about his regular season. There’s still a lot of moving parts in his swing, but he shortened the path and added a slight leg kick as a timing mechanism, which led to more hard contact in 2015. His bat speed and natural strength give him above-average raw power, yet it plays down to solid-average—maybe a tick below—because of the moving parts and a lack of loft. The approach and pitch recognition appear to have jumped as well, though he remains too prone to whiffs for comfort. Starling’s defense didn’t take a step forward in 2015, but it didn’t have to. He still has the plus arm that you see from plenty of ex-quarterbacks, and he’s an above-average runner who takes good routes in center field. There’s still a lot of work to be done, but there’s no denying that 2015 was a massive step in the right direction. If he can take another one, he could be a top-of-the-order hitter who provides great value with the glove and enough value with the bat. If he doesn’t, he’s a fourth outfielder or platoon bat. Bret Sayre’s Fantasy Take: Yep, that guy. Compared to a bunch of the other names on this list, Starling stands out as someone it may be worth a second look. The high-end five-tool profile isn’t quite there anymore, but there’s still 20-homer and 20-steal potential in there somewhere; and betting on upside is never a bad thing. Major League ETA: 2017
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 It seems like an Austin Jackson ceiling at this point but probably less than a 5% chance of getting there, and less than a 20% chance that he's even a consistent big leaguer.

Nafro Verified Member Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Looks like a doctor's office. Getting some PED's? Yes because most doctor's have trophy's on their end tables, pictures of baseball players, and articles about baseball teams...instead of medical degrees on their walls. Read what it says on the door. My guess is this is the Public Relations office for Licey or another baseball org.

King Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 JJ Cooper is at a Jays minor league spring training game JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 1h1 hour ago Rowdy Tellez hit one of the longest doubles you'll see all year off David Hernandez. High off batter ' s eye in CF. Melky Mesa also 2b'd JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 59m59 minutes ago Sean Reid - Foley easy first 93-95 JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 57m57 minutes ago Now Mark Appel on mound after Nick Williams doubled off of Greene. Too much fun here. JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 51m51 minutes ago Mark Appel 91-94. Gave up a fly ball HR to Jon Berti struck out next batter then walked Roemen Fields. JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 48m48 minutes ago Anthony Alford draws his second walk in two innings. Appel struggling with control. JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 47m47 minutes ago A bloop single by Mesa and now Rowdy Tellez facing Appel with bases loaded. JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 44m44 minutes ago Appel struck out Tellez on a slider but then gives up a ground ball 2 RBI single for his 2nd and 3rd runs. JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 25m25 minutes ago Appel gets 2 quick outs in his 2nd inning. Then E and back to back hits as Anthony Alford drives in a run JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 15m15 minutes ago Because I was watching D.J. Davis single against Jimmy Cordero I missed J.P. Crawford doubling in two. JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 13m13 minutes ago Cordero was 93-97. Little wild. (Cordero, traded to the Phillies for Ben Revere last season) JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 12m12 minutes ago Roemen Fields makes a nice sliding catch in CF. A Fields - Alford OF doesn't allow much to fall in lf and cf. JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 8m8 minutes ago Rowdy Tellez just homered off Appel. No doubter. Ok some of the hits were bloop but Appel is getting rocked.
