intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Pretty glad I didn't sell my ticket to this one... Thin line between well adjusted and completely crazy. Then again you probably would have gotten double back for it, though... I fully intend to buy season tickets for next year in the hopes of another playoff run and making a decent profit off of all you. Don't take it personally.

Pfft, you wouldn't make money off me anyway. I stopped buying tickets from stubhub a couple months ago. I was buying them back in the first few months of the season and getting 100 level outfield for $7.00. Sigh, definitely miss those prices... Though since the trade off is making the playoffs, I'll obviously take it.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Also, third walkoff home run I was there for this year. Should have been at four, but whatever.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Devon Travis was given the 2nd base job with zero major league or AAA experience. Is he Canadian? Lawrie almost wasnt traded for JD because he is Canadian. If Martin wasn't Canadian Navarro would be starting C for sure
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Donaldson's HR was just awesome. Can't believe that's how the home season closed out. I mean, I believe it, but it's just that perfect. Also, his tag out of Mahtook at third base was just huge. Play of the game if not for you-know-what. Well said. The ball sense on that tag was epic. And the walk off...well...just another day @ the office for JD. Was awesome to watch. Fell off my chair lifting my kid up high enough to watch it going out (cause everyone stood) and fell into some guy and his wife from PEI beside me who I just met. He just helped us up and was smashing off Hi 5's. All good in Jays Nation.

I indicated that Dalton Pompey is a fan favorite of some because he is Canadian not because of his stats in the MLB. There are people on this forum who want to replace Revere with Pompey immediately, others want to trade Pillar to free up CF for Pompey after the season. One poster made an analogy between Devon Travis and Pompey as if Pompey had equivalent stats to Devon Travis. I have to wonder what some people have against Pillar, who has a WAR of 3.7 - http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=12434&position=OF Part of the reason that the Blue Jays are now in first place in the AL East is because Pillar was able to step in for Pompey and play at a very high level. I am sure Pompey will get regular playing time in the MLB in the future but the Blue Jays are trying to win the AL East and then win in the playoffs. Now isn't the time to replace regulars with a rookie Pompey who hasn't proven that he is ready for the MLB.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 This exactly. I loved watching Lawrie play, was sad to see him go. However, to have been getting Donaldson back was just a dream come true. You loved watching him hit weak grounders all day long?

Pretty sure he's a fan favorite here because he's put up good numbers in the minors and has very good tools, nothing related to his canadianness.
