BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Tough day at the office for the Jays. Just didn't get the start and the pen was leaking. Lets hope RA brings his A game tomorrow again and we get back in the W column And f*** the Yankees...last time I looked they are still chasing us.
4thOFan Verified Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Red Sox are gonna be scary. Bradley, Betts, Bogaerts, Swihart, Rodriguez, Moncada.. what a core.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Glad I missed today's game. lol (just caught the final out).
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 not sure I want to see more of Loup, Tepera or Francis. get em tomorrow.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Glad I missed today's game. lol (just caught the final out). Was there a game today? I heard only one team came to play.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Was there a game today? I heard only one team came to play. More like only one team came to pitch. Really seems prudent to shut down Buehrle at this point, he is getting worse with each start.
labadee Verified Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Yanks have such an easy schedule, it's incredible. They aren't good against decent opponents. jays are pretty decent i hear

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Lol. Buehrle, Loup, Tepara, Hendriks, Francis. Hardly our A squad. Relax Jonn. True except Buehrle has given the Jays the most "quality starts" of any SP we have this year. (we have added Price obviously and maybe Stro) I am concerned about him.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Price/Severino, Eovaldi/Estrada, Nova/Buehrle or Stroman and Dickey/Tanaka or Pineda Sigh.
EMK19 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 (edited) Not sure about Gibby going with our back end mop up guys even in situations where we are only 3-4 down with plenty of more innings to go... Saw this in that Tigers blowout game as well and I don't know if Gibbons is perhaps being too over cautious with working our main pen guys/over trusting of the back end guys... Perhaps he just wants them to be fresh to go for the Yankees series which will of course matter the most, but don't know, it seems like its really short selling our offence's ability to bring us back into the game by putting those back end guys in there so early. I suppose I can accept this at this point, but i really don't want to be seeing this type of bullpen management vs. Yankees/final two weeks or so in the season, IMO we should be fighting hard to keep ourselves in games to try to win every game at this point as long as the deficit looks reasonable. Buehrle over the past 5 starts or so has looked very off and at this point I'm wondering if he even has the gas to go on for the rest of the season with any effectiveness anymore... At this pace, Stroman may have to overtake Buehrle's spot instead of Hutch's... At least Hutch has proven himself with couple nice starts recently before that sudden implosion late in his last start. Not a good time to be having rotational issues right now, but at least we have Stroman now to slot in somewhere if it comes down to it I guess. Martin meanwhile really needs to figure out his batting right now because his constant DPs are really killing all those mid/low lineup rallies right now. Edited September 7, 2015 by EMK19
nextyear Verified Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 It was a hot day yesterday in the Rogers Centre and even hotter today in Boston, so it looked to me like several of the players were exhausted (Martin especially). The Blue Jays will have 26 hours to rest before tomorrow's game starts and it will be a bit cooler at night (hopefully) so I think the Blue Jays will get a better offensive effort. Dickey has been pitching well so I don't expect the Red Sox to score many tomorrow. I hope that Loup won't pitch again this season.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Whatever happens this yr, address the f***ing starting pitching in the offseason. Goodbye Buehrle.

bronson44 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Buerhle looks done for the year. He's limping to the finish line. Yanks on the other hand their pitching looks in top form. i think the only chance the Jays have to take the division is to get stroman in the rotation and to have him pitch like an ace. Unfortunately I doubt that happens. Oh we'll it's been an exciting run for the Jays At least you're free to turn your attention back to hockey now. Thanks for coming out..maybe see you next year.

Oh we'll it's been an exciting run for the Jays What a manic bunch...jesus Didn't we get spanked by BALT in the last series first game and come back to win the next two??!!! Mark B had a terrible start in 2015 and 2013...then he went on a roll this season...now he is struggling and again everyone says he is done. lol. WE are still in 1st and have the talent and options to win the division. We have to execute one game at a time. Just WIN baby!
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I shut Buerhle down the rest of the way, he can pitch side sessions but he is getting old and needs rest. Have him fresh for the playoffs. Give Stroman his starts and rotate Hutch and MB.
nextyear Verified Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I think that Buehrle will be ok in his next start since he had a short outing today and an extra day's rest. It would be great if Stroman could pitch a game instead of Buehrle before the end of the season but it would be better to have Stroman pitch a few innings from the bullpen first.
EMK19 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Price/Severino, Eovaldi/Estrada, Nova/Buehrle or Stroman and Dickey/Tanaka or Pineda Sigh. It kind of sucks how Dickey has been placed at the final games of the series so often lately, no real opportunity to take advantage of the supposed Dickey effect... I know the validity of the Dickey effect is debated but in Yankees' case we know it at least gets into their heads as they've said so on paper (in messing up their swing), I wish it could have been arranged so that he pitches first or second game of the series but of course realistically the rotation can't be drastically adjusted in that way.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 This was a pretty s***** GDT to begin with. Not spelling Boston correctly doomed us. The disrespect disgusts me. We need to get someone in here who will take things seriously. Might be time for me to break into the GDT game this season
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 it shows how weak the farm pitching is when they have to call up Jeff Francis and Aaron Loup They didn't have to... The rosters expanded. Ugh this place is insufferable after a loss
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 it shows how weak the farm pitching is when they have to call up Jeff Francis and Aaron Loup ML experience. Lefties. Farm system isn't weak as a whole...the higher talent isn't ML ready.
