The pressure. We did well. Me a couple of buds on our Acadia Axeman football team. The bouncers were on St Mary's Huskies team. Apparently I almost bit the guys finger off when he rammed it at me.

 

They crammed us into a paddy wagon and off we went.

 

This happened to me and my bud, first night. We were wrecked and jet legged...broke my glasses stomping on them, haven't wore a pair since, lol

...why does that not surprise me? lol. I ended up in the crowbar hotel for the night with an appearance before the Judge charged with assault causing bodily harm and escaping lawful custody. I still remember I was in a fingerprint line up with a rapist and a guy with 65 B&Es. Even in 1987 I was thinking tequila isn't really good for me.

I was told to smarten up, seeing I had a Euro pass...Told me other countries wouldn't be so nice and charged me 50 pound.

LOL! I plead not guilty and went to trial with all my Acadia football buds as witnesses. Turns out hammered drunk buds aren't great witnesses. Who knew?! It was high profile because we were athletes and the "finger aspect" of it. Cost me like $15,000 and I was only 19-20. Seemed like 1.5 million back then.

 

So I got convicted on the ACBH and got off on the Escaping lawful custody. Got community service, fine and a criminal record cause it was my 2nd assault conviction....now long since pardoned.

 

Went on to become a Cabinet Minister and Deputy Premier...so it never became an issue because it was a long time ago and I was honest about it. Finally smartened up and quit drinking 13 yrs ago all together. I have a million stories of things like this from partying. Had a lot of fun but too much fun.
