The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 After taxes and paying all sorts of fees, I don't think Travis should be paying for $3,000 suits just because. They should pay for it and good for Bautista This. That 507K gets taken down pretty quick considering tax will take about half.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 GotStyle didn't do anything wrong here. Why pay for the suit if you don't need to? They weren't ones directing the segment. Sportsnet probably just called them up a couple days before and asked if they'd be okay with Hazel Mae & Co. bringing TV cameras into the store. Gotstyle pays for the Rogers employees suits/dresses as an ad on every segment of their Sports newscasts. They're both at fault and "used" Devon Travis as another promotion to both their industries.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 But here's an idea, why doesn't he just return the suit? I'm assuming the suit was tailored.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I am pretty sure GotStyle is a sponsor.... After every sportsnet segment you hear.... Broadcasters clothing provided by: GotStyle Yup.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 This. That 507K gets taken down pretty quick considering tax will take about half. Um... k... but most people reading this thread will never make $250K a year in their life.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 BAUTISTA IS A WHINER AND A BAD CLUBHOUSE GUY- wait, nope, he's awesome nvm
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 GotStyle commented on the article: For the record, at Gotstyle, we gave everything to Devon Travis at 50% off. He paid less than $900 for a three piece suit, dress shirt, tie, belt and boots (and that includes taxes). We also altered everything that same day and delivered it to his place so he could wear the outfit to take his mom out for dinner when she was in town the next day. I like that Bautista is doing this but I hope it doesn't sour his relationship with the team.

Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Good for Jose, Travis would easily get shafted for this if someone like Jose didn't say anything. I know we're probably all thinking they make a lot of money and they can afford it but it's the principle.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 That actually sounds like a pretty good deal. Indeed but probably worth it for them. This wasn't a charity piece, Hazel is making money, GotStyle secures future money via advertising, Travis loses money. It's not right no matter how much the suit costs.

Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 He's right in principle, but not worth souring a relationship over what he might spend on dinner some nights.

I doubt it. It's not like the Rogers executives/front office are jipping him. This type of decision rests on someone at sportsnet that signs off on these things, probably the VP of marketing
FFantasy Verified Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Poor Travis only making half a Mil, can't pay for his the suit... we should send him some welfare checks in the mail.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Poor Travis only making half a Mil, can't pay for his the suit... we should send him some welfare checks in the mail. You won't last past the week. I'd put twenty on that
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Author Posted August 26, 2015 I'd last on league min easily. You probably only need 1-2 suits tops. You can comfortably rent sub $2000 a month or bunk with someone else. All your meals except breakfast/home snacks are paid for.
FFantasy Verified Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Not sure people realize how much league min is... it's more then most president's and CEO's at major corporations make.
FFantasy Verified Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 You won't last past the week. I'd put twenty on that You're cute <3
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 That's easy to do when you don't have money. I'll boycott them too! I have money.
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 This was also in May... If Travis gets sent down in his rookie year much like Pompey, he's suddenly making 50k not 500

It's not like he can just go out and spend it all he needs to save most of that money for his future/retirement.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Poor Travis only making half a Mil, can't pay for his the suit... we should send him some welfare checks in the mail. Poor Rogers, can't pay for a half-price suit... we should sent them some welfare checks in the mail.

The video is rarely smooth throughout an entire game and you don't get to see any of the pregame/post game. You can watch any game, any broadcast, on any device for less than $150/year. It's a freaking steal.

I get smoother streams watching on Kodi through the Sports Devil add on, and still watch any game I want. TBF I have read some people have more luck with the old video player, but I cancelled before trying it out.
