Big winning streak about to happen.

I guess they figured he was the bad luck charm...

There must be something seriously wrong with that guy, personality-wise, that he is so much further down the RP hierarchy than he should be. Maybe him and Gibbons got into a fist fight.

Gibby's probably looking at Delabar's numbers in July.

Only 6 appearances in all of July.

How do you send Delabar down and keep the likes of Tapera if this is true its absolutely atrocious.

"Absolutely atrocious"? When you deal with relievers, you deal in small samples, and Tepera has been far better than Delabar since June.

Just watch Sanchez ends up being the worst of our relievers and Gibby starts to use him in less critical situations after walking leadoff hitter after leadoff hitter...

Plus, Tepera doesn't walk anybody, which Delabar does a lot of (4.0 BB/9IP).

Right now, the Jays focus should be adding a starter ASAP.. we have enough bullpen options now.

Sanchez will be thrust into the 8th inning role as early as tonight if the Jays have a lead.

God help us.

Agree on all counts

Plus, adding a starter helps the BP further by moving Sanchez or Dounbront there

I can't believe people are raging about Tepera vs Delabar. It sometimes surprises me that some of you haven't already died of high blood pressure.

Both of these guys have sucked this year. They're both replacement-level arms. Since June, Tepera has been less terrible than Delabar, and while it might be a flawed strategy to nitpick sample sizes, it hardly matters when you're talking about a total of 20 innings.

Nobody should care about which of these guys gets sent down. At worst, it's a mediocre decision that will probably not have any real consequences on the season.

Exactly. People look for any reason to bitch about Gibby or the FO.

Delabar has a track record Tapera doesn't

I think that's at least of some importance

A track record of one good year and 2 - 2 1/2 unimpressive years. I imagine it's his recent track record that is of importance in this decision.

And more recent tracked record has delebar just a Lil further down the suck charts. As twisted said it really doesn't matter which got sent down

Track record + RP?

And that's my point. He's a reliever, with 0.9 fWAR in 184 career innings. He had a replacement-level season in 2012, a great season the year after, and an abysmal season the year after that. At the very best, his track record is of "some importance", and it's barely a footnote at that. It's not of so much importance that his demotion warrants your rage and a "what the f***" by three different people on the first page of this thread. Again, "absolutely atrocious"? Some of you have a very unhealthy approach to this game.

Don't think it matters too much since both guys weren't really getting high leverage situations. I really hope they ease Sanchez into the 7th inning role and let him work a few low leverage spots proving he can throw strikes out of the pen as opposed to just throwing him out there in a one run game. I kinda hope Sanchez would be used as the long guy so he could still work on his pitches like a starter. Hendriks is being wasted right now. Sanchez's value is best using in a trade now I would think though.

I just hope Sanchez doesn't immediately get placed in high leverage because I don't think he's a great reliever either.

Yeah, and he's sucked in his rehab stints so far. You hope that they ease him into it, but there's a good chance that they throw him back into the fire. Osuna's first career appearance was with the bases juiced and A-Rod at the plate, in an away game at Yankee Stadium.
