BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Just got back from The Terminator (it sucked btw) how did Doubront look? and what were Reyes' derps like? Impressive. Spotting his FB and a wicked breaking ball getting a lot of swing and misses. Gave us more than we could have hoped for.
LTR Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Just got back from The Terminator (it sucked btw) how did Doubront look? and what were Reyes' derps like? Reyes nearly cost us twice on two mindless throws in the dirt. One error and one was caught.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 So Durbont good, norris good .... Dickey Dfa'd ! win win win !!! Lol
nextyear Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Doubront has a lot of potential. He also has a decent major league record at 29 W - 23 L overall. He looks like he might fit into the Blue Jays rotation.
LTR Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 So Durbont good, norris good .... Dickey Dfa'd ! win win win !!! Lol We absolutely need to get rid of Dickey but the FO just won't because of optics / politics or whatever. There's absolutely nothing encouraging about any of Dickey's stats.

He looks like he might fit into the Blue Jays rotation. Felix gave us a great start but he doesn't have a lot of potential. His W-L isn't really relevant. He could be a decent 5th SP and that would be enough for me with this offense.

vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I haven't seen a good sitcom since Seinfeld. I kept randomly thinking about this because there are a lot of things wrong with me. Frasier 3rd Rock from the Sun Curb Your Enthusiasm Arrested Development It's Always Sunny Scrubs Community There are probably others...

Though I never watched Community and I hear good things.

I don't really care to argue this, but go watch the Gang Gives Frank an Intervention and try to tell me you still don't like It's Always Sunny. Can't be done.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 How the f*** are the Jays only a game and a half back of the East, and suddenly 2nd place in the division? I haven't been scoreboard checking as much with the Jays losing a bit the past week and a half, but man, Baltimore and Tampa have sucked just as much. Suddenly the Red Sox might look like a threat to win the division, and Fangraph projections like them, too. Going to be an interesting race. Red Sox are due to Ed-Rod's emergence, Buchholz finally getting a decent backstop to catch him, and the trio of Betts/Holt/Bogaerts.. Pedroia's injury was a blessing in disguise. As for the Rays.. I knew this was coming. Seeing their lack of offense and Kevin Cash's frequency of yanking starters not named Archer in the 5th inning, you knew it was going to catch up to them. I have been predicting them to be major sellers at the deadline.. and now it's almost a certainty now, as the Rays could be 5-10 games under .500 by the trade deadline and trailing Boston in the standings. Wonder if DeJesus would look good in LF for the Jays? Orioles--that's a difficult call. But boy, they are getting nothing from Norris, Tillman.. and even Gausman is struggling. As I said before, the O's are in an awkward situation. If no 2nd half surge is coming, this team will be selling, as they have several players headed for free agency, and the O's farm is rather barren outside of Bundy(injured and out of options after this season), Harvey (injured), Walker and a bunch of lower prospects that aren't highly ranked. And as for the Yankees.. while they're getting Miller back, there isn't a lot of depth in their rotation. Sabathia, Eovaldi, Nova stink, Tanaka has been inconsistent and a threat for TJS, and Pineda has his moments.. they really need another starter, but don't want to overpay in prospects, especially being in a transition period between the Core Four era and the next generation of Yankees prospects like Severino and Judge. Oh, and outside of Severino, they have very little on the farm.. and Mitchell/Capuano are already in the bullpen here as long men/mop up guys.

Dr Negative Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 3rd Rock from the Sun was awesome, if only because it had the legend that is John Lithgow in the main cast.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I didn't mind 3rd rock from the sun. I never watched Arrested Development. I can't honestly say I watch much tv that isn't sports related though. Only so many hours in a day. John Lithgow was ridiculously good on that show. CYE is a Larry David show, so you might like that, though it's very different from Seinfeld. I'm pretty sure each one I listed is actually pretty highly rated, but I don't know how much that really matters to you. Not that I actually expect you to start watching a bunch of shows because someone you don't know happens to like them...
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Judging by the box score, Doubront pitched well. Can we jump on the bandwagon yet? Could be a decent 5th starter IMO.
