TRM Verified Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Gallo in CF? Weird. This lineup is without a hole if Navarro is where he belongs on the bench wow.
flafson Verified Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Navarro catching Boyd... Is that smart? If Navarro doesn't give a good look to the umpire, it may cost Boyd some serious confidence.
SexyNewForum Verified Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Let's do it!!! This guy is over performing. Let's f*** him up early and they'll be forced to keep him pitching with virtually dead arms in their pen
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Poor Boyd. First MLB start and he has Navarro catching him and Colabellol in the OF. Hope his FB tendencies somehow get the hitters to avoid hitting the ball to LF.
SexyNewForum Verified Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Yeah I don't get gibbons. Seems like an obvious strategy to give this kid the best defense available.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Martin had 2 days off last week. Boyd's first start. He could really use a premium receiver and strong D. So play Navarro tomorrow. DH Edwin and put Smoak at 1st. Could even look at giving Collabello a day off and play Carrera for D with RHP.
Nafro Verified Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 In all fairness Texas is playing a CF, that has never played CF...

It's either that or some team is in talks about trading for Navarro.

Thanks. I have to retract my comment from a month ago or so calling Collabello the 2015 Francisco. He has already given us a lot more quality ABs than Juan and has shown an ongoing propensity to take what a pitcher gives him. His D sucks but he is working hard at LF and for an IF he is doing ok. Ride the wave. He should sit today against a RHP and give Boyd a better D with Carerra.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Rogers Centre is the easiest CF in Baseball. Not the first time teams have tried this. The real issue is Navarro catching a rookie pitcher and our prized catcher DHing lol. Don't give me the day game after a night game ********. Martin is an everyday catcher and has done it several times in his career and several times this season. Navarro really needs to f*** off. Gibbons must think Martin is 39 years old with the amount of rest he gets. Estrada having back to back near no hitters with Fatty catching certainly hasn't helped in cooling down Gibby's love of Navarro. it's only going to get worse as the season goes on unless Alex trades him. If I didn't make that clear: TRADE HIM ALEX!
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Navarro has been okay thus far. This is probably the Rangers best chance to win one eh.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I'm pretty 100% sure now that Gibbons is receiving direct orders from AA that Navarro has to play as much as possible.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I'm pretty 100% sure now that Gibbons is receiving direct orders from AA that Navarro has to play as much as possible. If AA is sacrificing wins today, in order to make Navarro more attractive, then that is incompetence beyond imagination.

spats Verified Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 If AA is sacrificing wins today, in order to make Navarro more attractive, then that is incompetence beyond imagination. You'd think they called up some scrub from the minors to catch today. Navarro has been hitting and is a competent enough catcher, plus he is probably getting showcased. Everyone on here is calling for him to be traded...pretty hard to do if he's not playing. Martin has been nursing some minor injuries, so any rest he can get behind the plate will help in the long term.
