Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 So if you guys are gonna defend Osuna's s*** show cause he didn't give up any hard hits, how come you're going to criticize Cecil for giving up several bloops? One came in with no runners on base....one is a proven reliever (and not 20 yrs old)....one gave up 3 runs and has hit what seems like 1 lefty per game...
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Gibbons heated in his press conference What is he saying?
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 He hasn't been used a lot in the past week compared to earlier on. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/9907/ Think some folks really have their sights set on Papelbon too, which probably isn't helping their patience with Cecil.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 I'm just saying Cecil was pretty unlucky in the 9th. He had a decent cutter into Machado and the same thing with Jones, and they blooped it. But in the end he's responsible for what happened, just like Osuna.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 You're making me want the jays to lose a game just so you'll stop. Never.

Yeah, I'm equal opportunity when it comes to yelling at the tv during games. I was pissed at both but over it now. However the cat has gone into hiding for another day or two.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Wonder how Baustista's arm feels? He had to gun one to homeplate on Adam Jones single in the 9th

Clearly, both were unlucky.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Like mentioned, the Jays haven't had a lot of save situations because they've been blowing teams out when they've won, but the few they've had, haven't gone well. Cecil seems like he's falling apart in these situations. He's probably better as a 7-8 inning guy. AA needs to find someone who can handle this role better. A legit closer, or someone who can come in and get the job done (someone who isn't your typical closer, or hasn't been one prior), has to be brought in. Cecil had an excuse earlier in the season when he missed time in ST and wasn't ready for the season, but he seems like he just can't handle it now. Maybe that changes if the team gets him more save opportunities, but someone has to slam the door when it's 3 runs or less or else we head to extras, lose, especially if this team wants to compete. Glad they won but it's like sitting on nails and broken glass in the save situations. See, nice and quick, stfu and Diiaf!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 "Glad they won but it's like sitting on nails and broken glass in the save situations." You think it'd change? It's all about numbers at the time, yer dumn.
LTR Verified Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Great moment for him. Legendary career. I wouldn't exactly call a career full of cheating and deception legendary.
LTR Verified Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 This game was a nail bitter, just glad we came out on top.

Effit Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 How all the ejections were ridiculous Gotta agree with Gibby there, it was a bit much.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 I wouldn't exactly call a career full of cheating and deception legendary. You're pretty dumb if you deny that A-Rod is a legend.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 He should've never been a closer. Only reason he is cause the front office don't give a s***, and he strikes out a bunch, nevermind his near 5bb/9. Jesus H. Christ.

LTR Verified Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 damn... looks like I missed a good one You're better off not having watched this one, too stressful, prob took a few days off my life.
Governator Community Moderator Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 So 'thanks' to Cecil's near collapse we won a 1 run game.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Watching the highlights.. didn't look like wright meant to hit bautista, but I missed the game
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Do people here realize that if it wasn't for 30 odd plate appearances, Colebello would be the current leader for the batting title?
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 still the best shortstop in major league history

The guy really has been incredible at the plate, keep expecting him to drop off massively and it's just not happening
