Pillar is too valuable as a vacuum to be replaced in CF. I want him on this team going forward, and let the Pompey/Revere situation sort itself out in LF. Maybe even ask Bautista to go to 1B.

How'd you get that? I mean I understand in his rookie year with his tantrum, but he seems pretty humble now.

 

And doesn't matter if he's selfish/ego. He got nothing on our bangers and he's not THAT important.

I don't think it's an ego thing, he has high expectations of himself and a bit of a temper. Sometimes the emotions come out when he plays. Seems like a good teammate though.

the f***? Pillar is one of the few players on this roster that runs out all ground balls. You're gonna bitch about that, you're gonna have to bitch about Donaldson (and I have no problem with him not running out grounders, just look at E5 last year).

I think Pillar is one of the easiest players to root for on the team (if not throughout MLB)...That man gets every ounce of talent he has out of that body.

I was thinking this the other day. I'm inclined to say yes. Its definitely the best infield in the game balance wise.

 

Heck, when Buehrle and Dickey are on the mound the defense really is amazing everywhere on the diamond.

Yeah Revere is good for now but ideally Pompey steals his job and he gets demoted to 4th OF next year. No way should he be one of the guys pushing Bautista to 1B. He'd be fine as a 4th OF, pinch runner. Best guy for that role since Rajai.

Pillar isn't Edwin, is he? Can't really compare the two. Pillar still has a lot to prove, Edwin is a proven slugger. Pillar is the type of player that needs to go hard on every play and put pressure on the defence and hope to beat one out or force and error from time to time. Edwin is the type of player that smashes the ball off the windows.

Well for next year I suspect he'll be somewhat healthy. It'll be nice to have Revere behind him on the depth chart, If Jose is shifted to 1B that'd be another layer of depth. Makes me think Edwin has to be moved this off-season.

I'm going to the game tomorrow. Glad I bought those tickets with my flex pack. Face value of $66 or so are going now for $250-$420.

Even if they're going for something close to that, then we should feel pretty happy. I'm considering just getting lots of tickets for a bunch of games down the stretch, if I can't make it they'll be easy to sell or give away. Time's running out though.
