Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Hoffman is A piece. No, Norris is a more realistic piece
Governator Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 If they were going to pinch hit Dickey, they probably would have for Thole too. I'm expecting Dickey to hit.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Scott Copeland, optioned to triple-A Buffalo on May 28, is eligible even though he hasn’t been down for 10 days under the rules for the extra man. Well that phrasing could have been clearer.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-to-activate-navarro-from-disabled-list/ WASHINGTON – The Toronto Blue Jays will activate catcher Dioner Navarro for the second game of their split doubleheader with the Washington Nationals on Tuesday. The catcher has been out since April 22 with a strained hamstring and his activation, combined with Jose Bautista’s return to right field, will give manager John Gibbons a lot more flexibility with his roster. “That will clean up a lot,” he said before the opener. “Really, it would kind of go back to the way we started the season. I definitely think that will make us better.” Navarro is expected to take Josh Thole’s spot on the roster, and he will also see action at DH and as a pinch-hitter for the Blue Jays. Gibbons may also ease the load on starting catcher Russell Martin. “We’ll stay away from day games after night games for Russ because it’s starting to get to that point of the season when you start wearing down a little bit,” said Gibbons. “At the beginning of the season it’s a little bit different. That will keep (Martin) a little stronger, too. “Navarro is big part of our team. He’ll do some DHing too because we want to get his bat in there, pretty good hitter.” Gibbons said it’s “very possible” the 26th player the Blue Jays add for the double-header nightcap will be a pitcher. Scott Copeland, optioned to triple-A Buffalo on May 28, is eligible even though he hasn’t been down for 10 days under the rules for the extra man. They have Eddy, Smoak and Colabello who are 1b/dh types but Gibby wants this guy to dh. JESUS
Governator Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Nice job Thole.. He's hit the ball 3 in a row.
xposbrad Verified Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 With Strasburg struggling this year (6.55 ERA) and having his name mentioned in the offseason as a moveable piece this year (under control through 2016), do we have any pieces to target him? His xFIP is 3.76. This team should be sellers not buyers.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Does Thole have 5 straight hits last 2 games played
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 No, Norris is a more realistic piece How so?
LTR Verified Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Would be alarming if they don't PH for diceky
Governator Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Holy s*** we have a guy that can bunt? (Not that I like bunts)

Governator Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 All of a sudden the bottom of our order looks rather elite.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Just a single Martin! At the very least a sac fly.

Governator Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 You can love the DH option all you want but I freaking love NL strategies.
