I have watched the Blue Jays enough to know this isn't reality. I have seen Blue Jays miss/throw away routine plays to blow sure wins too many times in the past.

Because Goins is a career 49 wRC+ hitter and his defense isn't as great as people think. Many generic minor league shortstops can field just as well and are better hitters.
