Anything. Pompey up. A left-handed corner OF off the replacement-level scrap heap so Carrera can play CF against righties. Pillar can not be continually run out there as an every day player.

Try to bring Gose back? Travis was a nice plug in at 2b but left a huge hole in CF. Banking on Pompey after such a short minor league stint was risky to say the least.

The team should have been all over David DeJesus before the season when the Rays were apparently shopping him for nothing but salary relief, and the Jays knew Saunders was hurt. Guy crushes RH pitching, and is still a plus corner defender. He's exactly what the team needs. I wonder if they'd still move him?

usually the easiest thing a player does is pick the ball up when it stops rolling. Carrera has managed to f*** this task up more than once. He's a putz and I don't want him playing anywhere let alone CF.

it's his attitude that's getting him into trouble. He got sent down last year for being a prick that over valued his own talent. He still hasn't learned and doesn't understand his role in the lineup. His job is to not get himself out, but he's hacking blindly and has zero plan in his AB

IF Reyes, Travis and Bats were healthy it wouldn't be so bad. DV and the mushroom could cover LF. Smoak at first and Ed to DH. that would be 1 s***** bat in the lineup. You can live with one bad bat, but not 3-4

I would put Bats out there bad arm and all or bring up DSJ. Anything has to be better than playing Pillar on a regular basis or Carrera anytime.I've watched Pompey in Buffalo and am a big fan, but he has looked awful. Hope he gets his confidence back.

Im not a huge Pillar fant. But this team is stuck with him because sadly hes our best option in CF. Pompey has no business being anywhere near a major league lineup right now, and it was certainly a gigantic risk giving him the starting job to begin with. Im a huge fan of Devon Travis but you have to wonder if it was a smart choice letting Gose go with Pompey still being a very raw prospect and DJ Davis still likely a couple years away.

Knee-jerk reactions are a pretty strong indicator of an incompetent FO.

 

Baseball players are not f***ing evaluated over single sessions and small samples.

But if they let Rasmus walk and shipped Gose out of town you would have thought they were gonna ride this kid to the finish line. Perplexing that they gave him such a short leash.

This team has been awful when it comes to adding decent inexpensive FA players or pitchers for depth/insurance purposes in areas of weakness. Its frustrating.

First thing I thought of when I looked at the box score from work. Nothing like putting people into situations where failure is all but guaranteed.

Setting yourself up with better depth in the off-season. Having a lefty and righty utility guy that can play up the middle.

Just the ASG? You're clearly underestimating AA's incompetence...
