intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Thought they'd go Delabar since Cecil seems to have been given his old job back. On the other hand, Cecil has pitched in two straight ball games.

S33n Verified Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I guess we'll be seeing some Francis today :X
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I do not like our bullpen lol It seems like the roles have reversed, Osuna wasn't good as Castro in spring training and then now its Castro isn't as good as Osuna in the majors
SAAviour Verified Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I thought we'd only see francis after a few injuries.
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I take it Francis has options? Cant see them bringing up Delabar only to DFA him when Saunders comes up.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 when in doubt increase the Maple Boner.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 This seems like a lateral move at best.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Gibbons was talking about the strain on the pen yesterday. This might just be a very short term thing to get some length for the next few games.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I take it Francis has options? Cant see them bringing up Delabar only to DFA him when Saunders comes up. he doesn't and he has a Veteran's consent option. So he could block an assignment. If another team wants him, Jays won't block the move. If they don't returns to Buffalo.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Francis can pitch 1-2 innings; Delabar just one inning. Sanchez to the bullpen, and Estrada to the rotation very sson.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I take it Francis has options? Cant see them bringing up Delabar only to DFA him when Saunders comes up. Options work on a per-year basis. They can call Delabar down and sent him back up as much as they want this year.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Francis can pitch 1-2 innings; Delabar just one inning. Sanchez to the bullpen, and Estrada to the rotation very sson. Yep. It's happening. Sanchez's next start is against Baltimore, and an ass kicking in that game could seal his fate.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Yep. It's happening. Sanchez's next start is against Baltimore, and an ass kicking in that game could seal his fate. It is a hasty, but right move. Sanchez to the minors is the best move, but something is something
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I guess our management thinks 3 IP is a large enough sample size to trash a pitcher based on "ERA". 6.00 ERA 2.33 FIP 2.79 xFIP The future looks bright. Well it's not like they're DFA-ing Hynes. He has options. Entirely possible that they still like him and they just want a long-man for the next little bit, I guess.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Hynes has faced two hitters in the last four days and Estrada should be available for multiple innings today. Unless he's banged up a bit and can't pitch today, which there's no evidence of, we have to assume this move was made for performance reasons after 3 innings.

Maybe he's just the most expendable reliever with options remaining to get a long guy up here? idk. Don't think Estrada can be optioned without Veteran's consent or whatever, Loup is too good, Cecil is too good, would burn an option on Osuna/Castro, Hendriks is out of options, etc

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 This seems like a lateral move at best. Eating crow on this. The extra length from Francis is an asset. He's acting more as a Redmond replacement than one for Hynes.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Thanks Francis. Francis out, Delabar in
