Pillar is a defensive beast !!

 

WTF with these perfectly placed,weakly hit balls tonight?

 

theory.... new turf is slow, infield has been be a few steps in to not give up weak infield hits. that leaves extra room in between OF and infield. The OF has tried to creep in a few steps but then they have gotten beat over the top. the new turf is not easy to play....

 

just a theory.

A lot will depend on his 2015 for me (obviously). With the Edwin and Bautista extensions looming and Buehrle walking, Dickey @ 1/12 could be pretty attractive. Any signs of decline and I'd probably pass.

 

Unless he does really poorly this year you probably keep him. He's one of the most likely pitchers to hit over 200 IP, even as he ages. Depends on their payroll restrictions/thoughts about EE/Bautista though.

Pillar has been fun to watch this season

 

funniest play was when he dove into the chest of some old guy in the bleacher in Baltimore. he was ready to go all Derek jeter 5 rows in and superman'd into the old guys chest.
