ScientificReason Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 lmao how to kill Cecil's confidence on the year. Call him the closer and then never give him the chance to close and replace him with a 20yr old A ball kid. Brilliant. ?? If Cecil is that weak he should not be closing anyway, please.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 If Gibbons is this quick to give the hook to Cecil, then we should consider putting Travis in for Bautista.
King Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Or, Cecil's hurt. Gregor Chisholm @gregorMLB 30s31 seconds ago Cecil's velocity was down to 87-88 mph last night. Hope is that velocity will come back when he gets some additional work. #BlueJays
ScientificReason Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 If Gibbons is this quick to give the hook to Cecil, then we should consider putting Travis in for Bautista. Yes because those 2 situations are the same..herpderp indeed.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Question, can Cecil be sent down without having to pass him through waivers? If he's this behind, there is no reason why Delabar should've been taken over him.
King Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Castro the closer per Barry Davis K.................. Scott MacArthur @TSNScottyMac 40s40 seconds ago No defined closer for time being. Castro still could get matchup work in 7th, 8th in days ahead. #BlueJays #MLB #Yankees Richard Griffin @RGriffinStar 50s50 seconds ago Gibbons suggested that for the moment Castro will be closing games for the #bluejays with Cecil in his old role.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 WOW that was quick. I didn't like having Cecil at the closer position personally but that was quick as hell lol Gibby's not f***ing around
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Going 'no-closer' / committee after 2 games. If only AA knew we needed bullpen help in the offseason. These holes just sprung up on him all of a sudden.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Yes because those 2 situations are the same..herpderp indeed. You're a scientist, I can understand when you miss sarcasm
King Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 John Lott @LottOnBaseball 47s47 seconds ago Gibbons came as close to saying Castro will be the closer without actually saying it. But Cecil will not be the closer for the time being.
King Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 WOW that was quick. I didn't like having Cecil at the closer position personally but that was quick as hell lol Gibby's not f***ing around Maybe the Jays are concerned about that very large velocity drop.
ScientificReason Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 You're a scientist, I can understand when you miss sarcasm I recognize stupidity, you send off alarm bells immediately. MAn this bullpen leaves no confidence, AA should have did more to improve the bullpen, going to cost us games this year.

ScientificReason Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 THanks MJ. What does MJ stand for?

I can sell you a sarcasm detector, though.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Just throw Redmond as the closer, relievers are overrated anyways. Yankees are so stupid giving all that money to Andrew Miller. No Thanks, Hoffman should be ready by May anyways
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Cecil, you just last one inning in your new spot lol
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Cecil, you just last one inning in your new spot lol 3 weeks from now, after Castro racks up 7 saves and a ghastly 25/3 K/BB ratio, Gibbons will say, "I tell you h'what, there is no way we can pull the kid from the closer role"

Governator Community Moderator Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 ?? If Cecil is that weak he should not be closing anyway, please. He's been our most reliable arm for the past few years, closers aren't just flamethrowers anymore. I prefer closer by committee tbh. I just think it's ridiculous to take away his closer spot that they gave him months ago just because he was forced to come in with the bases loaded none out in the 8th with like 5 warm up pitches... and I'll say this again, Castro would have given up a game tying 2-run bomb in his first pitch of the 7th to Arod if it weren't for the inbound hurricane wind. If that happened this conversation doesn't happen.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 3 weeks from now, after Castro racks up 7 saves and a ghastly 25/3 K/BB ratio, Gibbons will say, "I tell you h'what, there is no way we can pull the kid from the closer role" lol ... And we lost a good asset. Maybe #3 starter

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 lol ... And we lost an good asset. Maybe #3 starter Next year Sanchez and Castro will compete for a Starting spot...with the other being the closer.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I'm sorry.... but is Pillar's punishment for taking a play off last night is getting the start in CF and Pompey is on the bench tonight? Pillar f***s up so Pompey gets to ride the pine???

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I was definitely premature, Castro closer for tonight and committee for the foreseeable future
