Bluejays0988 Verified Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Next year's starting rotation should be Stroman, Sanchez, Norris, Osuna, Castro...with Hoffman replacing possibly Sanchez. That is a ridiculously good looking rotation and something you can build your team around for many, many years

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 The young guys's emergence is huge for this franchise albeit it's only ST. Pompey is looking really good a bit under the radar with a lot of the focus on the 4 young pitchers and on Travis, but, to say the least, he's done nothing to make anyone doubt him. Travis has done almost everything to earn the 2B job. Norris has been really good. Sanchez is what he is, but it's encouraging that the team is having him work on a new pitch. And despite my disagreement with bringing Castro and/or Osuna north with the team, I can see why the organization is so high on them. They throw hard, but have offspeed pitches that they command to get hitters off-balance.
Jonzo Verified Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Can everyone relax, it's 2 weeks into ST and you're calling these kids studs and beasts. I guess that's typical though.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Osuna looked impressive. Let's see what Castro can do.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 i'm thinking they resign either one of Buehlre (if he doesn't retire) or Dickey Just say NO f***ing No to Dickey! Buehrle maybe or pitching coach?

If you watch him pitch you know he's a stud. He's hitting his spots and the quality of pitches are pretty good.

We're pretty much all trying to be scouts. Sure it's early, but because not a lot of us have seen these guys live, it's nice to be able to see what they're made of. We can judge stuff, command and at least gives us an idea on what their big league potential should be.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I just hope they hit cut off men this year. We gave up so many extra bases and runs last year just based on failing to execute basic fundamentals you learn when your 8. I will take productive outs. But if Martin can drive a 3-1 pitch into the gap with a fast runner already in scoring position would be more ideal than just trying to move him over. You also want Bautista to do the same. Bautista hitting the ball on the ground isn't an effective at-bat unless you have speed on the bases. how many innings did they run themselves out of last year by being brain dead on the bases? lol Funduhmentalz

It's all good, I'm excited too, but banking too much on rookies will bite you more often than not, IMO.
