Insane prediction of the day:

Thames gets noticed by the Yankees and Cashman signs him for medium $ to DH after ARod retires. Power LHB for the short porch. He gets busted for PED's after 30 games.

Of course, Eric Thames is playing in a league likely the equivalent of AA or AAA.. with these numbers, if he chooses so, will at least get a minor league deal with somebody looking to catch lightning in a bottle.

Hey, it worked for Chris Collabello..

I have to think that he would rather be a superstar in Korea getting paid decent amount of money (not sure on this) than playing in a small town US city making nothing. He's been there for two or 3 seasons now, I don't see why he would come back unless he was able to secure a spot on an MLB team.

ESPN end-of-season awards:

Donaldson AL MVP, HanRam LVP (with video of Hanley being Hanley.. so bad, he gets moved to 1B next season). Since the trade deadline, Boston is 32-23 (21-12 since Hanley got injured.)

Imagine, Boston makes the postseason with Toronto (with the Yanks either in the 2nd wild card or out altogether) if they hadn't wasted money on HanRam and puts JBJ or Castillo there in LF all season.. the pitchers appreciated it when HanRam was taken out of LF.

Look at his #s:

The guy hit .380/.500/.800 this past season with 48 dingers and 39 steals. He must be a god damn legend over there and from his twitter page he seems to have really taken the culture in too. Really loves playing there. So I don't see why he would come back on a minor league deal.

Two seasons in Korea and his numbers are hilarious. 71 doubles, 11 triples, 83 homers, 50 stolen bases to 10 caught stealing, 160 walks to 186 strikeouts and a .362/.462/.740 triple slash.

Oh?

Have you not been following? 6 homers and a 300 wRC+ since September 15th. Huge hit after huge hit.

His wRC+ was like 80 a few weeks ago, now it's 102. His hot streaks are ridiculous. Could be huge for the playoffs for them.

Man I wasn't even sure if I wanted to keep him. This is a good development.

Twins defense let them down tonight. Probably best this team doesn't see the post season tho.

Between what teams?

Preferably the AL West. But any of the scenarios would be cool. I don't think any of the teams are capable of beating the Yankees unless Tanaka is a pumpkin like his last start.

Guys it looks like everything is free on MLB.tv right now. I'm watching the Pirates-Reds right now.

(This is of course for the cheap skates like me who won't even pay the $4 for unlimited final weekend subscription)
