RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Amazing read about Votto and his focus on hitting http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/joey-votto-on-aging/ Crazy how underrated he is and I'm surprised he doesn't get talked about more in the media in Canada considering his Nationality. I think he has a decent shot at the HOF but will come down to health as it usually always does. Votto has no shot at HOF

Surprised Pillar is playing.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Votto has no shot at HOF Will likely finish this season at 42 career fWAR. Only 32 years old, career .311/.423/.536, good for a 157 wRC+. Highly regarded as having one of the best eyes in the MLB for quite some time now, and has been recognized as the league MVP once. He has a good shot at the HOF, his hitting profile is a positive one as he ages and inevitably starts declining.

He's putting up such good offensive numbers and its a complete waste for a s***** Cincinnati team that looks to continue to be bad for a while.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Boston Red Sox continue to play decent baseball. They have moved out of last place past Tampa Bay by beating them 8-7 tonight - http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2015_09_21_tbamlb_bosmlb_1#game=2015_09_21_tbamlb_bosmlb_1,game_state=Wrapup,game_tab=box Luckily the Yankees have to play the Red Sox for 4 games starting next Monday and hopefully the Red Sox will help the Blue Jays clinch the AL East by beating the Yankees in 2 or 3 of the 4 games. Red Sox are going to be very good again, soon They have several top end young cheap position players and plenty of money to buy some high end SP Only Hanley R is a dog, though I suppose Ortiz must be almost ready to retire
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Wow, Bryce Harper is so close to finishing the year with a wRC+ over 200. Only one other player in the last century has accomplished that at age 22 or younger...Ted Williams. And no one has done it since Barry Bonds Yes, that's pretty good company

He's getting paid 25M a year for his ages 34-39 seasons. Not many teams are going to want to take that on.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Joey Votto is currently 11th on the alltime list for OBP. And I don't see why he couldn't even be able to move up atleast a few more spots.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Votto on the jays would be amazing. Probably not a good idea financially but damn would this offense be godly.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 For those interested in buying Blue Jays apparel, Sport Chek has a Friends & Family sale of 25% over the next two days.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 For those interested in buying Blue Jays apparel, Sport Chek has a Friends & Family sale of 25% over the next two days. probably exclusions
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 probably exclusions Nope, just picked up a new Majestic Blue Jays hoodie and got the 25% discount. As long as the item is regular priced, you're good! Jerseys, New ERA caps, t-shirts are all 25% off. So for those buying stuff down at the Rogers Centre, check out Sport Chek first. Limited selection for player jerseys (location I was at only had Tulo, Martin and their were a few of Price) and sizes were very limited for hoodies, jerseys, caps etc. Though if you purchase a different size/player jersey, you have 60 days to exchange it for the size/player jersey you want. I wanted to pick up a Josh Donaldson or Marcus Stroman jersey, though they had none - might head back tomorrow or check the one downtown at Maple Leaf Square tonight.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Who else is watching the Angels game right now?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Who else is watching the Angels game right now? Poor Astros
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Poor Astros I would rather them fall out of it. They could be a dangerous team
Joe Shades Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 It is a disgrace that the Astros are fighting for the division and there are so many empty seats
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Poor Astros They are a dangerous team. bombers. Colby has become so bad in the OF. A 2013 5.5 fWAR player. Kind of hard to believe.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Poor Astros They still have a shot at the division though
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 What happens if there is a 3 way tie for the two WC
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Rangers/Astros series is going to be huge... Hamels vs. Kazmir Holland vs. McHugh Perez vs. Keuchel Rangers sweep sends Texas to Toronto, New York (more likely Toronto), or Kansas City for the ALDS.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Ha. Royals with runners on the corners, 1 down, and down 3-2 in the 9th.
Rajais Mitten Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 ugh bases loaded now cmon seattle
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Now bases loaded with 1 out in the 9th. Wilhelmsen is going to blow this for Seattle.
Rajais Mitten Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 and of course a run scores 3-3
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Lol Mariners, can't really trust them in pulling out close games.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Lol Mariners, can't really trust them in pulling out close games. Never trust the pulling out method.
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Lmfao did the Royals seriously just pinch run for Morales when his run quite literally does not matter? Yost gonna Yost.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 A Cano bomb would be nice.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
