To be fair, if Royals would have won at a regular contending rate of 50-60%, then he is right, Jays couldn't have done anything to take the first spot.

Royals were never "clearly best in the AL" good anyway. This is just some evening out.

SPANK!! He call your mom a slut. You gon take dat?

He's in tough, thinking about that whole Mom Sister thing I told him about a few years back. Poor bastard. Yeah, he has no dad.

P.S. It's why I know he's a knob jockey with da Dogg, twisted-logic, in that kid.

Their offense is more than capable of putting enough on the board to support that rotation. If they make the playoffs they're a serious WS favourite IMO.

They're scary. I seem to remember the last series with the Indians here that posters were pretty much like, "I wish these guys wouldgo away already!"

The Indians are a pain in the ass and a short series against that rotation could feel, well, pretty short. I'd much rather one of the Twins or Angels back their way into the second Wild Card.

So the only race in the NL is pirates cubs to.see who will get home field advantage. Must suck to know who you'll be playing a month in advance.

NL is feel.good for the MLB. With Dodgers Cubs and Mets all getting in all the big markets are in play

After the Twins/Angels game was rained out tonight, they are going to play a double header tomorrow. Season defining day for both teams.

It could be a huge boon for one team and devastating for the other. But if they split they're just back where they started (albeit with two fewer games to make anything happen). Hard to call it season defining, but I agree it's a huge opportunity for both clubs (neither of whom I'm really fond of, tbh).

You can make the same argument about the Rays.

Yeah, if the Royals won more games they'd have more wins under their belts. But they didn't win those games.

What's the difference between a red-hot April-May and a red-hot August-September? Expectations (which mean nothing).

Angels win. Now only 1.5 back of the Astros, and could be as few as 0.5 games out with a doubleheader sweep today and a Astros loss.

Jays magic number down to 6.

Walk off by Romine (Andrew)! Jays still only 1 game back of the Royals and 3.5 ahead of the Yankees. Magic number now down to 6 after the Twins were swept in the double-header, and Houston is headed for a win.

UPDATE: **** the umpires! Romine's sac fly has been overturned. Game going to extras.

Royals in danger of helping the Jays out as their bullpen tanks again.

Yup....makes me feel better about our pen implosion this aft. Still 1 gm back from KC and 3.5 over the Yankees. Not bad.

What? Like was the guy out at the plate or something?

BTW, magic numbers:

JAYS: 6 for a wild card, 11 for AL East

ROYALS: 3 for AL Central

RANGERS: (Assuming a win tonight, as they lead 10-1 on Seattle): 11 for division, 10 for wild card

YANKEES: 9 for wild card

ASTROS: 13 for wild card
