Bud Norris has been DFA. Wanna pick him up guys? We don't have to give up Stroman. ;)

No. His numbers are terrible. The only place he belongs is AAA right now.

What kind of attitude is that? LMAO

Over this past yr, we acquired arguably the best 3B, SS, SP, and catcher in the AL. We have the best offence in the league. If they pull it together for the next two months, the Yanks are EASILY catchable. I feel we are in the same spot Baltimore was in last yr when we had a bunch of games in hand on them. Think of how many games we squandered due to the BP and bad defence this yr.

Worst case we win the WC and wreck Colby Rasmus' stros.

We've had losing streaks before. I was merely pointing out that a little losing streak could mean that we'll be 10 back. Hence 6 gb isn't nothing at this point. Of course the Yankees are catchable but we'll need to play around .600 ball from now on to catch them IMO. Or play a little below .600 but take the majority of the games against them.

I know. Its a joke in jest to when the Astros text were leaked and AA asked for Norris and they responded with Stroman.

A little losing streak by the Yankees and we could be within 2 games too, works both ways. 6 game leads have evaporated in a couple weeks before. Not saying it will happen, won't be easy, but this is not impossible.

"Dave Stewart says Paul Goldschmidt's name came up in talks with Padres but he's not sure if it was "realistic or if it was play." "

imagine the negotiations between Preller and Dave Stewart lol it'd be like kids trading baseball cards

"so I'll give you my Goldschmidt, Saltalamacchia and Ziegler for your Upton, Shields and Kimbrel?"

"wait was that the deal? Aren't we missing guys?"

"I can't remember!"

Luis Severino coming in to replace Pineda while he's hurt.

Likely during the Red Sox series, possibly Monday (which would put him in line for the Jays series). And BTW, it looks like we're missing Tanaka. It's looking like Eovaldi, Nova and Severino for the series.

Yeah but the Yankees are more likely to have a winning streak than a losing streak (just look at their numbers). I still think that the Jays need to play .600 ball to catch them.

Question, so now when it comes to trading up to the Aug 31st, do all trades have to start as a result of a waiver wire claim

Or can you still trade straight up one on one with another team?

If the second scenerio was true what would be the point of the July 31 deadline
