Or blow out his elbow, whichever comes first. Wasn't there a reason he was yanked from starting?

There are two trains of thought when it comes to starting vs relieving in terms of health.

Some think that putting a guy in the rotation will get a guy injured because he has a higher workdload

But there are others that also think that a guy in the bullpen will get injured due to the infrequency and unpredictability of when to pitch, as opposed to the strict schedule that starters have.

Either way, McGowan will get injured.

I was hoping for a QS today, but Abreu f***ed him.

MLBTR has started their free agent rankings updates: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/04/2016-mlb-free-agent-power-rankings-2.html

Justin Upton definitely won't get the most money and $250MM is totally off the table, right? He's a good player and I'm a fan, but he's not an elite player by any means. I could see 7/133 or so.

Heyward's free agency will be really interesting. This is a very good crop overall.

If we could get Gordon, let Smoak walk, move Batista to 1st/DH that would be amazing! However I don't see it happening due to the payroll bump that will happen with EE/Bautista's contract plus Martin's back-loaded contract and Reyes. :(

We will gain over 30 million when Buerhle and Dickey are cut loose

I'm loving the 9th inning managing in the 6th inning in the Rays Sox game. Rays use 2 pinch hitters (one worked, one didn't) and with 2 out Farrell brings in one his late inning pitchers.

Farrell evolving, interesting

More likely that he forgot what inning it was. He'll probably call for a few extra bunts in the 2nd inning to make up for it...

And Farrell's idiocy costs the Red Sox the lead and the game, as the Rays win 7-5. A Jake Elmore HR sealed it for Tampa. Frigging Jake Elmore! Boston really needs pitching in the worst way.. they won't get away with this against better offensive teams.

the division is so tight with the schedule having everyone playing most of their games in their own division.

yeah, got caught stealing home with the bases juiced. oops. I think that's twice this year for him.,

It's so embarrassing when it fails but kind of awesome when it doesn't.

Joe Nathan, torn UCL and tendon.

Season ending, and probably his career is done.

One of the more underrated closers for a period.

If this is the end, Nathan finishes his career with a 62-34 record, 377 saves, 967 Ks, a career 2.89 ERA. It also means Soria is set as the Tigers closer for the rest of the season.. but you can imagine the Tigers will be looking for relief help at the deadline.

Reminds me of Lawrie doing that against the O's with Bautista at the plate. Idiotic.
