King Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 The Phillies are so bad and unlucky on both the MLB and minor side. Their top draft choice from a few years ago announced he's giving up on baseball. He sucked anyway, probably should have been released but saved himself the embarrassment by "leaving the game".
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 He did get a $1 million bonus - I wonder if he gets penalized for quitting? or is that money a sunk cost anyway.

Laika Community Moderator Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 The Stroman catastrophe increases the motivation to trade Navarro for an arm. Are there any potentially available arms that could pitch either in middle/late relief, or in the rotation? A swing-man with power stuff, maybe?

Laika Community Moderator Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Randall Delgado? That's an attractive idea. I wonder what pieces Arizona would give up - obviously they would have some interest in Navarro.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 How about Navarro + $4M for Daniel Hudson?
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Randall Delgado? Yep. I wonder if we could throw in some extra value (a C prospect or two) to get one of Arizona's arms.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 How about Navarro + $4M for Daniel Hudson? Why? Is Hudson left-handed now?
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Or maybe, if Toronto gets desperate, Cahill + ~$7M for Navarro?
King Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Baez, Soler and Bryant hit back to back to back home runs off Trevor Bauer lol
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Baez, Soler and Bryant hit back to back to back home runs off Trevor Bauer lol Shaun Marcum served one up to Welington Castillo a bit later too. Marcum's last MLB highlight was "Marcum pitches with dragonfly on his hat" from 2013.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Jairo and Sano are my neighbors. Last night I was talking to Jairo Beras, he's my younger brother's close friend. I said "Jairo, I chose you in my fantasy team, but I'm thinking fire/drop you because you don't take walks and the Rangers are planning to convert you in a pitcher" Jairo "Go to hell Ang, I'm as good as Boqueton (Miguel Sano) and I'll show you this season. I'll get +20 dingers and tons of RBI's, and you will be happy bitch" That same night after drinking a lot of alcohol and hanging out with 3 prostitutes, Jairo collided his SUV, but luckily he came out unscathed. LMFAO!! cf

Arizona would be a good trade partner right now. I'd love Delgado or Hudson, though if the Jays dangle Navarro it likely would be Cahill coming back.

Arizona really does have a pitching surplus and would want prospects. There could be a fit.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 The D-Backs are definitely the team to trade with. It's just a matter of finding the right trade. Delgado is the guy i'd go after too, but can't see Arizona trading him for Navarro. I wonder if there is a trade where the Jays could land both Hudson and Delgado, but that's unlikely.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 If you go to Fangraphs "Positional Depth Charts" and look at C, the Diamondbacks are listed at #31. #1 - San Francisco #2 - Toronto ... #30 - Remaining Free Agents (Ryan Doumit and Brett Hayes) #31 - Arizona

glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Gotta give Navarro credit, his fat ass is forcing a trade, and that's a good thing for the Jays.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 What little depth the Yanks had in their rotation just dropped further, and it may hurt their bullpen, as Adam Warren may be forced into the rotation until Nova is back:
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Another SP falls victim to PFP drills. Pretty rough spring so far for pitchers.. and what's your bet that Wilson's injury is worse than Scioscia says?
